급증하는 디지털 성범죄를 방지하고 피해자들을 보호하기 위해 이인선 여성가족위원장은 ‘성폭력방지 및 피해자보호 등에 관한 법률’ 2건을 대표발의했다.

법안에는 딥페이크 허위영상물 피해자 지원에 대한 국가와 지자체 책무를 강화하는 내용이 포함됐다. 또한 지원기관인 디지털성범죄피해자지원센터의 기능을 강화해 피해자 인적사항과 사진 등을 지원기관이 삭제할 수 있도록 했다. 

이인선 여성가족위원장은 “딥페이크 기술은 개인의 명예를 훼손하고 사회적 불안을 초래하기 때문에 이를 예방하고 처벌하는 법적 장치가 절실히 요구되고 있다. 국민들이 안심할 수 있는 사회를 만들기 위해서는 강력한 법적 지원이 필요하기에 법률 제정이 큰 의미가 있다고 생각한다”고 말했다.
