【브레이크뉴스 의성】이성현 기자=의성군(군수 김주수)은 10월 4일부터 6일까지 3일간 열리는 제7회 의성슈퍼푸드 마늘축제에서 방문객들에게 의성토종배추 씨앗을 무료로 나눠 주는 행사를 진행한다.

의성군에 따르면 이번 행사는 지역 고유 품종으로 역사와 전통을 가지고 있는 의성토종배추의 매력을 더 많은 사람들이 직접 경험하고, 가정에서도 쉽게 재배해 볼 수 있도록 기회를 제공하기 위해 마련됐다.

소포장한 종자 2,700팩가량이 준비되었으며 행사에 참여하는 방문객들은 한 팩의 씨앗과 함께 의성토종배추에 대한 설명과 활용안, 재배에 대한 주의사항 등 안내서를 제공받게 된다.

특히, 의성군은 의성토종배추의 가치를 높이며 브랜드화하기 위하여 지리적 표시 증명표장 상표 등록을 추진하고 있다. 이를 통해, 의성토종배추가 가진 독특한 특성과 품질을 공식적으로 인정받고 소비자들의 신뢰를 얻을 수 있는 계기가 될 것으로 기대하고 있다.

김주수 의성군수는 “이번 씨앗 나눔 행사는 지역 전통 농산물의 가치를 재조명하고, 더 많은 사람들이 의성의 맛과 문화를 경험할 수 있도록 하는 데 큰 의미가 있다”라며, “나아가 지역별 토종 종자가 명맥을 잘 이어갈 수 있도록 의성군이 선도해 가겠다”라고 말했다.

한편 의성군은 제7회 의성슈퍼푸드마늘축제 기간 재활용 활성화를 위한 청바지 기부 캠페인과 자원순환 물품교환 행사를 만나볼 수 있는 부스를 운영한다.

못 입는 청바지를 1장 이상 기부한 사람에 한해 청바지 새활용(진이즈백)의 결과물인 가방이나 파우치를 증정하며, 별개로 ‘청바지 기부 캠페인’인 청바지 3장당 건전지 1세트 또 종량제봉투(20L) 1매를 교환해준다.

‘자원순환 물품교환’은 폐건전지의 경우 크기에 상관없이 10개, 종이팩 및 투명페트병은 용량에 따라 각각 15~45매, 20~30개, 젤 아이스팩은 3개당 건전지 1세트 또는 종량제봉투(20L) 1매로 교환해준다.

Those who donate at least one pair of unworn jeans will be given a bag or pouch, which is the result of the jeans recycling (Jeans Back) campaign, and separately, they will exchange one set of batteries for every three pairs of jeans through the ‘Jeans Donation Campaign’ and one volume-rate bag (20L).

For ‘resource circulation product exchange,’ 10 used batteries regardless of size, 15 to 45 paper packs and 20 to 30 transparent PET bottles depending on capacity, and 3 gel ice packs are exchanged for 1 set of batteries or 1 volume-based bag (20L).
