지난 10일 기획재정부 국정감사에서 최은석 의원은 야당이 윤석열 정부를 향해 재정수지 적자, 국가부채 증가라고 비판하는 것과 관련해 “국가부채 1,000조(원)국이란 용어를 만들어낸 것은 문재인 정부와 민주당”이라고 꼬집었다.

그는 “문재인 정부의 국가채무비율 증가율은 12.9%로 윤석열 정부 2.8% 보다 무려 4배 이상 높다”면서 “문재인 정부는 특히 다시 줄이기 어려운 복지지출 확대, 공무원 및 공공기관 증원에 따른 인건비 부담 등으로 지출구조 경직성을 심화시켰다”고 비판했다.

또한 최 의원은 “문재인 정부의 이러한 재정정책으로 인해 그 책임은 윤석열 정부가 부담하게 되었다”고 말했다.
