‘자랑스러운 경북도민상’은 경북의 명예를 드높이고 지역사회 발전에 헌신·봉사한 사람을 선정해 시상하는 상으로, 올해 경상북도는 총 39명을 선정했다.

영천시에 따르면 수상자로 선정된 정광원 ㈜강산 회장은 바람직한 기업경영인상 구현, 다양한 기부활동으로 나눔경영 실천 등을 해왔으며, 최분순 영천문화원 이사는 사회취약계층 대상으로 각종 봉사활동 참여, 환경정화 활동 및 깨끗한 도시환경 조성 등 적극적으로 지역사회 발전에 헌신해왔다.

최기문 영천시장은 “수상하신 분들께 축하와 감사의 말씀을 드리며, 앞으로도 지역사회 발전을 위해 많은 관심과 도움을 부탁드린다”며 축하의 뜻을 전했다.

한편, 경상북도민의 날은 신라가 매소성 전투에서 당나라 군을 격퇴하고 삼국통일의 기틀을 마련한 날인 서기 675년 음력 9월 9일(양력 10월 23일)을 기념하고자 지난 1996년 경상도 개도 100주년을 맞이해 매년 10월 23일을 도민의 날로 지정한 바 있다.

The ‘Proud Gyeongsangbuk-do Citizen Award’ is an award given to those who have contributed to the honor of Gyeongbuk and have devoted themselves to and served the development of the local community. This year, Gyeongsangbuk-do selected a total of 39 people.

According to Yeongcheon City, Chairman Jeong Gwang-won of Gangsan Co., Ltd., who was selected as the recipient, has been practicing a desirable corporate manager image and sharing management through various donation activities, while Director Choi Bun-sun of Yeongcheon Cultural Center has actively devoted himself to the development of the local community by participating in various volunteer activities targeting socially vulnerable groups, environmental cleanup activities, and creating a clean urban environment.

Meanwhile, Gyeongsangbuk-do Citizens’ Day commemorates the 9th day of the 9th lunar month (October 23 in the solar calendar) in 675 AD, the day when Silla defeated the Tang army in the Battle of Maesoseong and laid the foundation for the unification of the three kingdoms. In 1996, the 100th anniversary of the opening of Gyeongsang-do, October 23 was designated as the Citizens’ Day every year.
