【브레이크뉴스 구미】이성현 기자=구미시는 30일 해외 반도체 분야 첨단 소재·부품·장비 기업 대표와 투자 담당자 15명이 구미시를 찾아 구미국가산업단지를 방문했다고 밝혔다.

구미시에 따르면 이번 방문은 산업통상자원부 산하기관인 한국소재부품장비투자기관협의회(KITIA) 주관의 ‘일본, 미국 등 해외 첨단 소·부·장 기업인 초청사업’으로 이뤄졌다.

방문단은 구미시의 투자환경을 조사하고 산업단지를 시찰하였으며, 구미국가산업단지 내에서 활발히 생산 활동 중인 SK실트론, LG이노텍, 매그나칩, KEC, 원익큐엔씨, LB루셈 등 주요 반도체 기업과 구미 반도체 특화단지에 대한 높은 관심을 드러냈다.

이들은 40여 개 외국인투자기업이 입주한 구미국가산업단지에서 구미 투자의 우수성을 직접 확인하며, 원익큐엔씨, 대진기계 등 반도체 소재·부품·장비 기업을 방문하여 구미 반도체 기업의 기술력을 체감하고 향후 투자 성공 가능성을 가늠했다.

현재 구미시에는 344개 반도체 관련 기업이 활동하고 있으며, 반도체 특화단지로 지정됨에 따라 각종 세제 혜택과 규제 완화를 비롯해 반도체 생산에 필수적인 산업 인프라가 완비되어 있다. 또한, 대구경북신공항에서 직선 거리 10㎞라는 우수한 입지 조건 등 반도체 기업을 위한 다양한 지원책이 마련·제공되고 있다.

지난 23일에는 외국인투자기업 도레이첨단소재가 구미5공장 IT필름 13·14호기, 구미1공장 아라미드섬유 2호기 생산을 위한 기공식을 개최했다. 이는 지난 5월 22일 서울에서 산업통상자원부, 경상북도, 도레이, 도레이첨단소재가 체결한 5,000억원 투자 양해각서(MOU)의 일부이다.

이와 함께 반도체 관련 중국계 외국인투자기업도 구미국가산업단지에 대규모 고용을 포함한 공장 신설 투자를 준비하고 있어 외국인투자가 활발히 이어지고 있다.

구미시는 앞으로도 교통, 교육, 문화 등 정주 환경을 지속적으로 개선해 지역 일자리 창출과 외국인투자 유치 확대에 총력을 다할 계획이다.

아울러 해외 투자유치단 파견과 투자환경 설명회 개최 등을 통해 주요 타깃 기업을 대상으로 적극적인 투자유치 활동을 전개하고, 관내 외국인투자기업들의 사후 관리와 고충 처리에도 만전을 기해 투자하기 좋은 도시로 거듭나고자 한다.

김장호 구미시장은 “반도체특화단지, 방산혁신클러스터, 기회발전특구 지정 등 구미시의 완벽한 투자 인프라와 파격적인 인센티브 지원은 첨단 소재·부품·장비 기업의 마중물과 같은 역할을 할 것”이라고 강조하며 방문단 일행에게 구미 투자를 권유했다.
