1일 영천시에 따르면 이번 승인으로 성내동에 총 110세대의 통합임대형 공공임대주택(영구임대, 국민임대, 행복주택)이 공급될 예정이며, 2025년 토지 보상 등 사업에 착수해2027년 하반기에 준공될 계획이다.

‘경북영천 마을정비형 공공임대주택’ 사업은 상대적으로 소외됐던 영천시 성내동 영천여고 동편 약 8,757㎡(약 2,700평) 규모 부지에 공공임대주택을 건설‧공급하는사업으로, 지난 2020년 12월 영천시와 LH 간의 실무협의 절차를 거쳐 사업 규모 등을 확정하는 시행협약을 체결했으나 진척을 보이지 않았다.

작년 10월, 영천시와 LH는 변경 협약 체결을 통해 사업 규모 조정, 임대유형변경 등 시행협약의 일부 내용을 보완하고, 영천시와 LH 간의 상호협력관계 및 지원체계 등을 재규정해 사업 진행에 박차를 가해왔다.

최기문 영천시장은 “경북영천 마을정비형 공공임대주택 사업을 통해 성내동 일대의 주거환경 개선에 도움이 되길 바란다”며, “양질의 임대주택 공급을 통해 정주여건 개선과 더불어 인구 유입 및 지역 경제 활성화에도 기여할 수 있길 기대한다”고 말했다.
