9일 영천시에 따르면 건강마을조성사업은 건강취약지역의 우선적 보건문제 해결을 통해 지역 건강불평등 해소와 건강수준 향상을 위해 민관이 협력해 진행되는 사업으로, 신녕면은 올해로 6년째 추진 중이며, 주민 주도형 건강증진이라는 목표 아래 신녕면 건강위원회의 적극적인 참여와 보건소의 협력체계가 좋은 결과를 이끌어냈다.

또한, 사업 운영에 적극 참여해 시민 건강증진에 기여한 공로를 인정받아 경상북도지사, 경상북도통합건강증진 지원단장 개인 표창도 수상했다.

영천시보건소는 매달 건강위원회 회의를 통해 건강마을 주민의 의견을 적극적으로 교환해 문제점을 발굴·개선했고, 지역사회 연계, 역량강화 교육, 재능기부봉사단, 걷기 캠페인 등 다양한 프로그램을 통해 주민주도형 건강생활실천이라는 목표 달성을 위해 적극적으로 사업을 추진해왔다.

특히 경상북도통합건강지원단과 연계한 5차년도 주요건강지표 조사결과, 1차년도 대비 고위험 음주율 외 총 4가지 건강행태에서 신녕면 건강마을이 좋은 결과를 보여 사업의 방향성과 효과성에 대해 인정받았다.

박선희 보건소장은 “지역사회 건강 가치를 실현할 수 있는 건강마을사업에서 주민과 보건소가 소통하고 협력한 노력의 결실을 보게 돼 보람되며, 앞으로도 주민의 건강수준 향상을 위해 모든 노력을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
