【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=선린대학교(총장 곽지환) 응급구조과(학과장 현진숙)는 지난 6일부터 8일까지 3일간 대한심폐소생협회가 주관하는 KBLS(Korea Basic Life Support) Provider 과정을 성공적으로 마무리했다고 9일 밝혔다.

이번 교육에는 응급구조과 1학년 학생 30명이 참여하여, 이론과 실습을 병행하며 응급구조사로서의 전문성을 한층 강화하는 뜻깊은 시간을 가졌다.

이번 교육은 선린대학교 응급구조과 소속 KBLS 인증 강사들이 직접 진행하여 학생들에게 실질적인 응급상황 대처 능력을 배양하는 기회를 제공했다. 참여 학생들은 심폐소생술(CPR)과 자동심장충격기(AED) 사용법 등 기본 심폐소생술의 핵심 기술을 체계적으로 학습하며, 높은 이해도와 뛰어난 기술 습득을 보여줬다.

1학년 김민국 학생은 "이번 과정을 통해 실제 응급상황에서도 침착하고 정확하게 대처할 자신감을 얻게 되었다"며 "앞으로 지역사회의 안전을 위해 더 많은 기술과 지식을 습득하고 싶다"고 소감을 밝혔다. 이러한 훈련은 학생들이 향후 지역사회의 안전을 책임지는 응급구조사로 성장하는 데 중요한 기반이 될 것으로 기대된다.

선린대학교 응급구조과는 학년별 자격증 과정을 통해 학생들의 내실을 기하고, 지역사회 봉사학습을 통해 사회복지관에 재능을 기부하며 응급처치 교육에도 힘쓰고 있다. 이러한 활동은 학생들이 실무 역량을 강화하는 동시에 지역사회에 기여하는 기회를 제공하며, 응급구조사로서의 소명의식을 높이고 있다.

현진숙 학과장은 "이번 KBLS Provider 과정은 학생들이 응급상황에 신속히 대응할 수 있는 능력을 기르는 데 중요한 기회였다"라며 "앞으로도 지역사회에도 협력을 강화하고 현장 중심의 교육 프로그램을 확대해 가겠다"고 말했다.

이번 과정을 통해 1학년 학생들은 지역사회와 국민의 생명을 지키는 응급구조사로서의 첫 발을 내디뎠다. 앞으로도 선린대학교 응급구조과는 전문성과 실무 능력을 겸비한 인재를 양성하기 위해 지속적인 노력을 이어갈 예정이다.

Seonlin University Emergency Rescue Department, KBLS Provider Course to Strengthen Practical Capacity

Seonlin University (President Kwak Ji-hwan) Emergency Rescue Department (Department Head Hyun Jin-sook) announced on the 9th that it successfully completed the KBLS (Korea Basic Life Support) Provider course hosted by the Korean Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Association for three days from the 6th to the 8th.

This training involved 30 first-year students from the Emergency Rescue Department, who had a meaningful time strengthening their expertise as emergency rescuers through theory and practice.

This training was conducted directly by KBLS certified instructors from Seonlin University Emergency Rescue Department, providing students with an opportunity to cultivate practical emergency response skills. The participating students systematically learned the core skills of basic CPR, such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED), and demonstrated high levels of understanding and excellent skill acquisition.

First-year student Kim Min-guk said, “Through this course, I gained the confidence to respond calmly and accurately in an actual emergency situation,” and added, “I want to acquire more skills and knowledge to ensure the safety of the community in the future.” This training is expected to be an important foundation for students to grow into emergency medical technicians who will be responsible for the safety of the community in the future.

The Department of Emergency Medical Services at Seonrin University is working to improve students’ internal skills through a qualification course by grade level, donate their talents to social welfare centers through community service learning, and also focus on first aid education. These activities provide students with opportunities to contribute to the community while strengthening their practical skills and enhancing their sense of calling as emergency medical technicians.

Department Head Hyun Jin-sook said, “This KBLS Provider course was an important opportunity for students to develop the ability to respond quickly to emergency situations,” and added, “We will continue to strengthen cooperation with the community and expand field-centered education programs in the future.”

Through this course, first-year students took their first steps as emergency medical technicians who protect the lives of the community and the people. In the future, Seonrin University's Department of Emergency Medical Services will continue its efforts to foster talents with both expertise and practical skills.
