11일 경북도에 따르면 행정안전부 주관으로 지난 12월 10일 정부세종청사에서 개최된 2024년 인구감소 위기 대응 우수사례 경진대회에서 경북도는 저출생과 전쟁 성과로 대통령 기관 표창을 받았다.

이와 함께, 기초지자체로는 상주시가 지역특화형 비자 사업 적극 추진과외국인 지역 정착 우수 지원으로 장관 기관 표창을 받았다.

도는 저출생과 전쟁에 나서 저출생 극복 사회 인식개선에 앞장섰으며 저출생 전주기에 대응하는 100대 실행 과제 추진 등이 정부로부터 높은 점수를 받은 것으로 알려졌다.

특히, 광역지자체 최초로 저출생과 전쟁본부라는 정식 조직을 꾸리고 어려운 재정 여건하에서도 추경으로 1,100억 원을 편성해 현장에 신속히 집행, 각종 민관단체와 저출생 협업 네트워크 형성 등에서 평가가 좋았다.

경북도는 12월 12일에는 보건복지부 주관 2024년 생애 초기 건강관리 사업 우수기관으로 광역지자체로는 유일하게 선정돼 보건복지부 장관 기관 표창을 받는다.

도는 산모‧신생아 건강관리 지원, 공공산후조리원 건립, 모자보건사업, 난임 부부 지원, 난임‧우울증 상담센터 운영 등 체감도 높은 산모와 신생아 건강관리 지원사업에서 좋은 평가를 받았다.

경북도는 10월 10일 보건복지부 주관 2024년 인구정책 유공 대통령 기관 표창, 9월 25일 국회 행정안전위원회 등 주관 ‘2024년 대한민국 지방 지킴 공모 시상식’에서도 종합 1위인 종합 대상을 받기도 했다.

이철우 경상북도지사는 “경북이 쏘아올린 저출생 대책들이 현장에서 조금씩 긍정적인 신호로 나타나고 있다. 국회와 정부에서도 이런 점을 높이 평가한 것으로, 내년에는 중앙과 잘 협력해 저출생 구조 개혁 과제와 아이 천국을 위한 핵심 사업 추진에 집중하겠다.”라고 강조했다.
