그러면서 “좌파의 홍위병식 사상 강요 본성”이라며 “대한민국은 ‘표현의 자유’가 철저히 보장된다”고 강조했다.

이어 “자유로운 대한민국에서 생각이 다르다고, 사상이 다르다고, ‘다름’을 참지 못하는 좌파의 행각은 문화혁명 때 벌어진 홍위병의 행각과 무엇이 다른가”라고 반문했다.

우리공화당은 “좌파의 현수막 훼손을 강력히 규탄한다”며 “경찰은 공정한 잣대로, 즉각적인 수사를 하여 현수막을 훼손한 자를 법률에 의거 처벌할 것을 요청한다”고 말했다.
