영천시는 화남면 종계장에서 12월 11일 10시 AI 의심축 발생을 신고받고 즉시 의심축 발생농장 이동제한 조치를 취하였다. 같은 날 12시 경상북도 동물위생시험소는 의심축 부검 후 시료를 채취하였으며, 14시 가축위생방역지원본부에서 초동방역팀이 투입되었다.

이에 최기문 시장 주재로 상황점검 긴급회의 및 현장 점검을 실시하였고, 오후 6시 부시장 주재로 AI 확진 시 대응을 위해 제1차 재난안전대책본부 회의를, 이어 양성으로 확진되자 10Km 내 가금류 157호 농가(418,764수)에 대해 이동 제한을 발령했다.

영천시는 발생농장(94,000수)과 인근 2호 농가(32수)에 대해 전두수 살처분 명령을 시행하였고, 반경 10km 방역대 내 가금농가(157호, 418,764수)에 대해서는 정밀검사를 의뢰할 계획이다.

한편 인근도로에 이동통제초소 2개소를 설치 운영하여 축산차량 출입 통제 및 소독 방역에 나서고 있다. 또한 초동방역을 위해서 이미 긴급 소독약품 1,021병을 공급 완료하였으며, 추가로 생석회 4,500포를 농가에 공급할 계획이다.

영천시는 축산차량 소독을 위하여 거점소독시설(영천전자경매가축시장)을 24시간 운영하고 있으며, 방역이 취약한 소규모 농가 및 가금농장에 7개반 공동방제단을 동원하여 주기적인 소독을 지원하고 있다.

최기문 영천시장은 “영천시는 가축방역 대책을 신속하고 철저하게 이행하여 AI 추가 확산 방지에 최선을 다할 것”임을 강조하면서, “농장주는 책임감있는 자세로 방역수칙을 철저히 준수하는 것은 물론 의심 증상이 발견되면 즉시 상황실로 신고하고,AI 확산 차단방역 조치에 협조해 줄 것”을 당부했다.
