【브레이크뉴스 울진】이우근 기자=울진군(군수 손병복)이 2024년 하반기부터 실시한 고독사 예방 사업이큰 성과를 거두며 막을 내렸다.

30일 군에 따르면 이 사업은 고독사 위험에 처한 관내 1인 가구를 발굴하고 지원하는 것으로, 사회적 고립 예방이라는 취지를 담고 있으며, 올해 하반기 1만 3천여 명에 달하는1인 가구를 전수조사하여 돌봄서비스 대상자를제외한 고독사 고위험군 29명을최종 확정했다.

정기적인 방문과 모니터링을 통해 대상자의 건강 상태와생활 실태를점검하고주거환경 개선, 대상자의 외출을 유도하는 쿠폰 등의 서비스를 제공하는 등 대상자의 삶의 질 향상을 위한 노력을 기울였다. 특히소통의 통로를마련하기 위해 실시한 원예치료프로그램은 외출을 꺼리는 참여자들과 함께 반려식물을 만들면서 마음을열 수 있는 계기를 마련해 큰 호응을 얻었다.

이 외에도 지속적인 발굴·지원을 위해 행복기동대 193명을 위촉하고 그 역할을 교육하여 고독사 문제에 대한 인식개선을 위한 홍보 활동을 진행하였다. 또한도서관 등의공동체 공간 10개소를 지정하여 대상자들이 소통할 수 있는 공간을 마련하여지역사회와의 연계를 한층 강화하였다.

2025년에는 고독사 예방 사업을 지속적으로 확대하며, 대상자 발굴을 늘리고다양한 캠페인과 홍보 활동을 이어 갈 예정이다. 특히 IoT 기술을 활용한 비대면 안부 확인 사업을 적극적으로 도입하여 효율적인 모니터링을 실시하고, 다양한 지역자원과의 연계를 통해 고독사 고위험군이 우리 사회 안에서 이웃과 소통하며,사회 구성원으로서 건강한 생활을 영위할 수 있도록 새로운 프로그램을 도입하는 등의 노력을 지속해서 이어 갈 예정이다.

손병복 울진군수는 “고독사 예방 사업은 독거노인뿐만 아니라 청장년층 중 돌봄의 사각지대에 있는 사람들의 고립 해소를 목적으로 한다”라며 “우리 주위에 살아가고 있는 고립된 분들이 사회로 나와서 주민들과 어울리며 살아갈 수 있도록 군민 여러분의 많은 관심과 배려를 당부드린다”라고 말했다.
