【브레이크뉴스 경북】이성현 기자=국립농산물품질관리원 경북지원(지원장 김종필, 이하 경북농관원)은값싼 중국산 냉동고추를 구매한 후 부산, 광주 등지 농산물공판장 등을 통해 국산으로 원산지를 속여 판매한 경북 안동소재 판매업자 A씨를 적발하여 구속했다고30일 밝혔다.

A씨는 2024년 1월부터 10월까지 부산과 대구지역 거래업체로부터 중국산 냉동고추 27,157kg을 구매한 후 부산광역시, 광주광역시, 전남순천, 경북영주소재 농산물공판장(6개 청과) 등을 통해 26회에 걸쳐 22,739kg을 2억9천7백여만원을 받고 판매하면서 국산 원산지증명서를 발급하거나 국산이라고 알려주는 방식으로 원산지를 속여 판매했다.

매입한 냉동고추는시중 국내산 건고추에 비해 약간 저렴한 7,000원~9,000원 가격으로 판매했으며 중국산 냉동고추는 건조하면 쉽게 식별이 어려운 점이 있고,농산물공판장 및 개인간 거래를 통해 잘 드러나지 않게 유통하였으나 6회에 걸쳐농관원시험연구소에서 과학적인 분석을 통해 원산지 위반 사실을 밝혀냈다.

한편 국립농산물품질관리원은 2024년 10월10일부터 12월6일까지 김장철배추김치 및 고추 등 양념류 원산지표시 단속을 실시하여 전국에서 180개소를적발하였다. 적발된 업체중 거짓표시 129개 업체는 형사입건했으며,미표시로적발한 51개 업체에 대해서는 과태료 1,515만원을 부과했다.

경북농관원 김종필 지원장은 “김장을 늦게 담그는 가정을 감안하여 신년 초까지지속적으로 모니터링하여 원산지 위반 행위를 근절해 나가겠다”고 하면서“김장 채소와양념류를 구매할 때 원산지가 의심스럽다면 부정유통 신고 센터(☎1588-8112)또는농관원 누리집을 통해 신고해 줄 것”을 당부했다.
