군은 최근 5년간 빈집정비사업에 약 6억원을 투입해 250동의 빈집을 정비하였으며, 올해는 1억 5,000만원의 자체 재원을 확보해 50개소의 철거비용을 지원할 계획이다.

지원대상은 1년 이상 아무도 거주 또는 사용하지 않아 재해발생과 범죄우려, 마을 경관을 저해하는 주택 및 건축물이 해당된다.

빈집 소유자(관리자)들의 자발적 정비를 적극 유도하기 위해 개소당 최대 300만원을 지원하며, 환경부 슬레이트 처리사업과 연계하여 빈집을 적극 정비할 계획임을 밝혔다.

사업 참여 희망자는 2월 7일까지 각 읍·면사무소를 통해 신청(우편접수 가능)하면 된다.

손병복 울진군수는“마을 곳곳에 방치된 빈집을 조속히 정비하여 안전하고 쾌적한 주거환경이 조성될 수 있도록 최선의 노력을 다하겠다” 라고 전했다.
