지난 10일 신현국 문경시장은 문경읍 하리에 위치한 제룡사회복지법인을 들러박인원 대표이사와 차담을 나누며 건강 안부와 그동안의 시정 협조에 대한 감사 인사를 전했다.

이날 박인원 대표이사는 “언론 보도를 통해 문경시에서 주흘산 케이블카, 하늘길 조성, 숭실대학교 문경캠퍼스 유치 등 문경시 100년 미래가 달려 있는 굵직한 사업들을 추진하고 있다는 사실을 접했다”며,“사업들이 결실을 맺을 수 있도록 힘 닿는 데까지 최선을 다해 협조하겠다”고 말했고,

신현국 문경시장은“박인원 대표이사님은 문경시의 큰 버팀목이시다”고 하며,“시장 재직 시 문경시 발전에 기여한 공이 매우 크실 뿐 아니라 퇴임 후 십수 년간 지역사회를 위해 큰 일을 해오고 계신데, 작년에 설립한 제룡사회복지법인을 통해 지역사회의 어려운 분들에게 더욱 큰 힘이 될 것이다”라고 감사의 뜻을 전했다.

제룡사회복지법인은 작년 8월 설립되어 다자녀 가정 모국 방문 지원, 출산장려금 지원, 지역아동센터 9개소 어린이 대상 간식비를 지원 등 다양한 사업을 추진하고 있고, 앞으로도 제도권에서 벗어난 어렵고 불우한 계층에 대한 지원 등 지역사회 복지증진을 위해 다양한 복지사업을 추진할 계획이다.

이번 방문을 통해 문경시 발전과 복지 향상을 동시에 고민하면서 상호 비전을 공유하고 기관 간 역할을 거듭 인식하였다는 측면에서 향후 시정 방향에 귀추가 주목된다.
