14일 학교측에 따르면 이날 협약식은 대구사이버대학교 이근용 총장, 전종국 특임부총장을 비롯한 학교 관계자와 사단법인 자연보호중앙연맹 김용덕 총재, 김봉준 부총재 겸 사무총장 등 양측 관계자 10여 명이 참석한 가운데 진행됐다.

이번 협약에서는 ▲대구사이버대학교 입학 시 산학협약장학금 지급, ▲장애인 사이버 평생학습 플랫폼 홍보 및 활용 협력, ▲국제적 기후변화 대응 및 자연환경 보전 활동 공동 추진 등을 약속했다.

이근용 대구사이버대학교 총장은 “이번 협약을 통해 대학이 보유한 우수한 교육적 자원과 자연보호중앙연맹의 풍부한 실무 경험을 융합해 환경 보호와 안전한 사회 구현에 중요한 역할을 할 수 있도록 협력해 나갈 것”이라고 말했다.

김용덕 자연보호중앙연맹 총재 역시 “환경 문제 해결은 체계적인 교육과 실천에서 시작된다”며 “대학과 연계한 이번 협약은 자연환경 보존을 위한 실질적이고 효과적인 협력 방안을 마련하는 계기가 될 것”이라고 협약의 의미를 강조했다.

대구사이버대학교와 자연보호중앙연맹은 앞으로도 기후변화 대응 및 자연환경 보호를 위한 다각적인 협력을 지속적으로 추진할 계획이며 이를 통해 환경 문제 해결과 사회적 가치 창출에 함께 기여해 나갈 것을 약속했다.
