【브레이크뉴스 영덕】박영재 기자=김광열 영덕군수는 지난 15일부터 17일까지 9개 읍·면 순회에서 2025년을 ‘군민 모두가 행복한 새로운 영덕’으로 도약하는 원년으로 삼겠다고 밝혔다.

이 자리에서 김 군수는 지난해 성과와 올해 주요 현안에 대해 공유하고 군민의 다양한 의견을 수렴함으로써 소통과 공감을 바탕으로 군 행정과 사업을 추진한다는 의지를 내비쳤다.

지난해 영덕군의 주요 성과로는 △경북 제1호 ‘K-웰니스 도시’ 선정 △종합 청렴도 평가 12년 만에 3등급 달성 △생활인구 2분기 도내 1위(29만 명) △전국 지방자치단체 일자리 대상 최우수상, 경상북도 일자리 대상 등 수상 △동해안 국가지질공원 환경부 생태관광지역 선정 등으로 꼽힌다.

김 군수는 이러한 성과가 ‘군민 모두가 행복한 새로운 영덕’으로 가는 과정이라 평가하며 지속적인 정주 여건 개선과 복지 향상으로 군민이 실효성을 체감할 수 있는 군정을 펼칠 것을 피력했다.

특히, 올해 시작과 함께 개통한 ITX 동해중부선 철도와 연말 완공될 것으로 기대되는 포항-영덕 고속도로를 통해 지역의 교통인프라가 괄목하게 좋아지는 것을 기회로 삼아 차별화되고 특색있는 관광 콘텐츠와 마케팅으로 지역관광 활성화에 박차를 가할 계획이다.

김광열 영덕군수는 “이번 연초 방문뿐만 아니라 군민의 소중한 의견을 가까이서 들을 수 있는 기회를 상시 마련해 열린 군정, 소통하는 현장 군정을 펼쳐 나간다는 것이 소신”이라며, “지역공동체의 공감과 동의 속에 영덕의 새로운 미래를 만들어갈 수 있도록 올해를 도약의 원년으로 삼겠다”고 다짐했다.

Yeongdeok County Governor Kim Gwang-yeol visited nine towns and townships from the 15th to the 17th to communicate with the county administration in order to make 2025 the first year of leaping forward to become a ‘new Yeongdeok where all the people are happy.’

At this event, Governor Kim shared last year’s achievements and major issues of this year and expressed his will to promote county administration and projects based on communication and empathy by collecting various opinions from the county residents.

Yeongdeok County’s major achievements last year include: △Selection as the first ‘K-Wellness City’ in Gyeongbuk Province; △Achieving Grade 3 in the Comprehensive Integrity Evaluation for the first time in 12 years; △Ranking 1st in the province in the second quarter of the population (290,000 people); △Winning the Grand Prize in the National Local Government Job Awards and the Gyeongsangbuk-do Job Awards; and △Selection as an Ecotourism Area by the Ministry of Environment for the East Coast National Geopark.

Governor Kim evaluated these achievements as a process toward a ‘new Yeongdeok where all the people are happy’ and expressed his intention to implement a county administration that allows the people to experience the effectiveness of continuous improvement of living conditions and welfare.

In particular, he plans to use the remarkable improvement of the local transportation infrastructure through the ITX Donghae Jungbu Line railway that opened at the beginning of this year and the Pohang-Yeongdeok Expressway, which is expected to be completed by the end of the year, as an opportunity to spur local tourism activation with differentiated and unique tourism content and marketing.

Yeongdeok County Governor Kim Gwang-yeol said, “I believe that I will implement an open county administration and a communicative county administration by constantly providing opportunities to hear the valuable opinions of the people, not just through this visit at the beginning of the year,” and pledged, “I will make this year the first year of leap forward so that I can create a new future for Yeongdeok with the sympathy and agreement of the local community.”
