군에 따르면 전기요금 지원사업은‘발전소주변지역지원에관한법률’및‘울진군 군민에 대한 공공요금 일부지원 조례’에 따라 주택용과 산업용 전기요금을 지원하는 사업이다.

2023년까지는 170㎾h 해당액인 14,510원을 지원하였으나, 2024년에는 200㎾h 해당액인 17,690원으로 인상했고 2025년부터는 신한울 3․4호기 건설에 따라 법률에서 지원할 수 있는 최고액인 220㎾h에 해당하는 27,300원으로 확대하여 지원한다.

또한, 울진군에서는 군민들의 에너지 비용 절감을 통한 에너지 복지 실현을 위해 국가 공모사업인 신재생에너지 융․복합지원사업에 3년 연속 선정되어 울진군 북부지역부터 남부지역까지 순차적으로태양광, 태양열, 지열 보급사업을 시행중이다.

손병복 울진군수는“고유가 시대 지역 경제활성화와 군민들의 가계 부담을 경감 할 수 있도록 주택용전기요금 지원금 인상으로 조금이나마 도움이 되길 바란다”며“그동안 미등기주택이나, 아파트, 빌라 등 공동주택에는 보조사업으로 주택용 태양광을 설치할 수 없었으나, 금년부터 울진군 전 지역에 태양광 공유화 사업을 시행하여 군민 모두가 전기요금을 절감할 수 있도록 에너지 복지정책을 시행해 나갈 계획이다”라고 밝혔다.
