이 사업은 보건복지부의 노인 무릎인공관절 수술 지원사업 수행기관인 노인의료나눔재단에서 실시한다.

대상자는 울진군에 거주하는 만 60세 이상 노인 가운데 국민기초생활수급자·차상위계층 또는 한부모가족 중 건강보험급여 인공관절치환술 인정기준에 준하는 질환자이다.

지원 범위는 본인부담금에 해당하는 검사비, 진료비 및 수술비를 한쪽 무릎 기준 최대 120만원(양측 240만원)한도 내에서 지원한다.

지원을 희망하는 어르신은 수술 전 의료기관에서 발급받은 최근 1개월 이내 진단서 또는 소견서를 지참하여 울진군보건소, 각 보건지소에 방문하여 신청하면 된다. 다만, 신청 자격이 된다 해도 대상자 결정 통보 전 수술한 경우는 소급 적용되지 않으니 반드시 대상자로 선정된 후에 수술을 진행해야 한다.

정대교 울진군보건소장은“이 사업을 통해 무릎관절증을 겪는 어르신들의 삶의 질이 개선되고 지속적인 홍보로 의료 혜택을 받을 수 있도록 노력하겠다”라고 말했다.
