【브레이크뉴스 구미】이성현 기자=국립금오공과대학교(총장 곽호상) 건축학부 건축공학전공 4학년 독고빈 학생이 지난 1월 9일 서울 엘리에나 호텔에서 열린 한국건설기술인협회 신년인사회에서‘2025년 미래건설기술 인재상’을 수상했다.

3일 국립금오공대에 따르면 미래건설기술 인재상은 건설 산업의 미래 성장 동력인 학생, 청년, 여성인재를 발굴·지원하기 위해 한국건설기술인협회가 주관하여 시상하고 있다.

창의와 열정으로 미래 사회에 필요한 새로운 가치를 창출하고, 건설 산업 발전에 기여도가 높은 차세대 우수 인재 총 36명(고등학생 16명, 대학생 10명, 청년 4명, 여성 2명)을 선발한다.

국립금오공대 고성능구조재료연구실(지도교수 김우석) 소속의 독고빈 학생은 ‘내진·제진·면진의 원리가 동시에 적용된 Mid-Story Shaking Table 구조 고안’, ‘SCGPA(Spent Coffee Grounds Pellet Ash) 치환율에 따른 시멘트 복합체의 강도 특성 및 혼화제로서의 적용 가능성’등 다양한 연구 활동을 통해 관련 논문을 학술지에 게재한 바 있다.

또한 2024 내진설계 경진대회 한국구조물진단유지관리공학회장상, 2024 한국콘크리트학회 우수캡스톤디자인상 및 졸업논문전 최우수상, 2024 K-ISSUE 재난스터디 캡스톤디자인 경진대회 우수상 등을 수상하며 각종 경진대회에서 우수한 성과를 거뒀다.

독고빈 학생은 “보다 안전하고 보다 나은 건축 분야의 기술 개발을 위해 함께 고민하며 노력해 온 연구실 팀원들과 항상 세심한 조언으로 연구의 방향성을 알려주신 김우석 지도교수님께 감사드린다.”며, “앞으로도 건설기술 혁신에 기여할 수 있는 건축인이 되기 위해 끊임없이 노력하겠다.”고 말했다.

한편, 국립금오공대 건축학부는 건축공학전공(4년제) 과 건축학전공(5년제)으로 나누어 유능한 건축인이 갖추어야 할 다양한 지식과 능력을 함양할 수 있는 교육 프로그램을 실시하고 있으며, 건축학교육 프로그램 인증심의에서 최고등급에 해당하는 6년 인증을 획득한 바 있다.

2년 연속(`23~`24) 대구건축대전 대상 수상자를 배출했으며, 독고빈 학생의 지도교수인 김우석 교수는 2024 대한건축학회 건축교육상을 수상했다.

Dokgo Bin, a 4th year student in the Department of Architectural Engineering at Kumoh National Institute of Technology (President Kwak Ho-sang), won the ‘2025 Future Construction Technology Talent Award’ at the New Year’s party of the Korea Construction Technology Association held at the Eliena Hotel in Seoul on January 9.

According to Kumoh National Institute of Technology on the 3rd, the Future Construction Technology Talent Award is hosted and awarded by the Korea Construction Technology Association to discover and support students, youth, and female talents who are the future growth engines of the construction industry.

A total of 36 excellent next-generation talents (16 high school students, 10 college students, 4 youths, and 2 women) who create new values ​​necessary for the future society with creativity and passion and contribute greatly to the development of the construction industry will be selected.

Dokgo Bin, a student at the High-Performance Structural Materials Laboratory (advised by Professor Woo-Seok Kim) at Kumoh National Institute of Technology, has published related papers in academic journals through various research activities such as ‘Design of a Mid-Story Shaking Table Structure with Simultaneous Application of Earthquake Resistance, Vibration Control, and Seismic Isolation Principles’ and ‘Strength Characteristics of Cement Composites According to the Replacement Ratio of SCGPA (Spent Coffee Grounds Pellet Ash) and Its Applicability as an Admixture’.

He also achieved excellent results in various competitions, including winning the 2024 Earthquake Design Competition, the Korea Structural Diagnostic and Maintenance Engineering Society President’s Award, the 2024 Korea Concrete Institute Excellent Capstone Design Award and the Grand Prize in the Graduation Thesis Exhibition, and the 2024 K-ISSUE Disaster Study Capstone Design Competition Excellence Award.

Dokgo Bin said, “I would like to thank my research team members who have been working together to develop safer and better technologies in the construction field, and my advisor Professor Woo-seok Kim, who has always given me meticulous advice and provided me with the direction of my research.” He added, “I will continue to work hard to become an architect who can contribute to the innovation of construction technology in the future.”

Meanwhile, the Department of Architecture at Kumoh National Institute of Technology is divided into the Department of Architectural Engineering (4-year program) and the Department of Architecture (5-year program) and conducts educational programs that can cultivate various knowledge and abilities that a competent architect should have. It has also obtained the highest level of certification for 6 years in the Architectural Education Program Accreditation Review.

It has produced winners of the Daegu Architecture Competition Grand Prize for two consecutive years (`23~`24), and Professor Woo-seok Kim, Dokgo Bin’s advisor, has received the 2024 Architectural Education Award from the Architectural Institute of Korea.
