【브레이크뉴스 대구 】이성현 기자= 대구시의 뿌리 산업인 섬유 및 패션 산업의 경쟁력 강화를 제도적 장치 및 체계적인 계획 수립과 육성 사업 인증지원을 담는 조례안이 발의된다. 

대구시의회 박종필 의원(비례대표)은 오는 11일부터 시작되는 대구광역시의회 제314회 임시회에 ‘대구광역시 섬유·패션산업 육성 및 지원 조례안’을 발의한다고 밝혔다.

박 의원은 “이번 조례안을 통해 지역 섬유·패션산업에 대한 체계적인 육성과 지원으로 경쟁력을 제고함으로써 침체된 지역 경제의 활성화를 견인하도록 하기 위해 마련했다”고 밝혔다.

박 의원은 “대구는 1970~80년대에 우리나라 섬유산업을 주도하기도 하였으나, 지금은 원가 경쟁력 하락과 글로벌 경기침체로 인한 수출 감소로 어려움을 겪고 있는 가운데 친환경 및 디지털 전환 등의 변화에도 직면해 있다”라며 “주력산업이었던 섬유의 체계적 지원을 통해 첨단산업으로 육성할 필요가 있다”고 덧붙였다.

주요 내용으로는 ▲섬유·패션산업의 지속적이고 체계적 발전을 위한 기본계획 수립 및 실태조사 실시, ▲섬유·패션산업의 육성 및 지원을 위한 사업 추진, ▲지역 섬유 경쟁력 강화를 위한 인증 지원, ▲사무의 위탁에 관한 사항 등을 담고 있다. 

박 의원은 “섬유는 여러 산업 및 소재와의 융복합에 첨단 소재로 쓰이고 있고 꾸준히 발전하는 성장산업”이라며, 대구는 한국섬유개발연구원과 다이텍 연구원 등을 비롯한 훌륭한 연구기관과 대구텍스타일콤플렉스, 펙스코 등의 마케팅 인프라를 가지고 있어 대구시의 지원이 좀 더 세밀하게 이루어진다면 지역 섬유산업의 경쟁력을 한층 강화할 수 있을 것”이라고 강조했다.

Assemblyman Park said, “Daegu led the textile industry in Korea in the 1970s and 1980s, but it is now facing difficulties due to a decline in cost competitiveness and a decrease in exports caused by the global economic downturn, and is also facing changes such as eco-friendliness and digital transformation.” He added, “We need to foster the textile industry, which was our main industry, into a cutting-edge industry through systematic support.”

The main contents include ▲establishing a basic plan and conducting a survey for the continuous and systematic development of the textile and fashion industry, ▲promoting projects to foster and support the textile and fashion industry, ▲supporting certification to strengthen regional textile competitiveness, ▲matters related to the consignment of office work, etc.

Assemblyman Park said, “Textiles are used as cutting-edge materials for convergence with various industries and materials, and are a growing industry that is steadily developing,” and emphasized, “Daegu has excellent research institutes such as the Korea Textile Development Institute and the Daitech Research Institute, as well as marketing infrastructure such as the Daegu Textile Complex and PEXCO, so if the support of the city of Daegu is more detailed, the competitiveness of the regional textile industry can be further strengthened.”
