수성알파시티 내 대구스포츠산업지원센터 4층에서 열린 개소식은 테이프 커팅식과 현판식을 시작으로 김경기 대구대 사업단장의 개회사, 박순진 대구대 총장의 환영사, 신현철 한국반도체공학회 회장의 축사가 진행됐다.

또한 주호영 국회의원(대구 수성구갑), 김대권 수성구청장 등이 영상을 통해 차세대반도체 교육연구센터 개소를 축하했다.

이어 대구대학교 반도체 관련 사업 소개 및 교육연구센터 구축 보고 및 센터 투어, 그리고 박영준 라이팩 최고 기술·마케팅책임자(CTMO) 및 공성호 경북대 반도체융합기술연구원 처장의 초청 특강이 진행됐다.

이번에 문을 연 대구대 차세대반도체 교육연구센터는 대구 수성알파시티 내 대구스포츠산업지원센터 4층에 위치해 있으며, 총 822㎡(약 248평) 규모로 조성됐다. 센터 내에는 반도체 설계 및 프로그래밍 강의실, 반도체 공정 교육용 XR실습실, 프로젝트 지원실 등이 마련되어 있다.

대구대는 이곳에서 반도체 설계 및 공정 관리 전문 인력 양성을 위한 집중 교육 프로그램, 기업 재직자 대상 기술력 향상 프로그램, 타 대학 및 유관 기관 연계 교육과정 등을 운영하며, 반도체 분야 우수 인재 육성을 위한 거점으로 활용할 계획이다.

앞서 대구대는 지난해 9월 홍준표 대구광역시장, 박순진 대구대 총장 등이 참석한 가운데 대구광역시와 반도체 전문 인력 양성을 위한 협약을 체결했다. 이 협약에는 대구대가 수성알파시티에 반도체 설계·공정 관련 강의 및 교육, 현장 실습, 산학 연구를 위한 교육연구센터를 설립한다는 내용이 담겼다.

‘제2의 판교’를 목표로 조성 중인 대구 수성알파시티는 정보통신기술(ICT) 기업이 집적된 도심형 첨단산업단지로, 현재 300개 이상의 기업이 입주해 첨단 디지털 산업 혁신 거점으로 발전하고 있다.

김경기 대구대 차세대반도체혁신공유대학 사업단장은 “비수도권 최대 ICT 집적 단지로 발전해 가고 있는 수성알파시티에 반도체 전문 인재 육성을 위한 교두보를 마련하게 된 것은 매우 의미 있는 일”이라며, “앞으로 이곳이 지역 반도체 협력 체계의 핵심 거점이 될 수 있도록 지자체 및 유관 기관과 적극 협력해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
