【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=대구광역시는 10일, 중국 청두에 국제통상 강화 및 진출기업 지원 등 경제문화교류 확대 거점 역할을 수행할 ‘대구광역시 청두사무소’를 개소하고 본격 운영에 들어갔다.

대구시에 따르면 중국은 대구시의 무역교역량 1위 국가이며, 청두시는 쓰촨성의 성도로, 글로벌 500대 기업중 315개가 소재하는 등 경제산업의 중심 도시이자 풍부한 문화유산 보유 도시이다.

대구시와 청두시는 2015년 11월 자매도시 협약을 체결한 이래로 대학생 캠프 교류, 예술단 참가, 의료관광설명회 개최 등 인적교류뿐 아니라 경제·문화·예술 등 다양한 분야에서 꾸준한 교류협력 관계를 이어오고 있다.

이번 ‘대구 청두사무소 개소’를 통해 대구시는 쓰촨성 및 청두시에 지자체로서는 대한민국 최초로 현지 사무소를 갖게 됐다.

이날 개소식에는 정장수 대구광역시 경제부시장을 비롯해, 청두시의 조건 당 상무위원, 장빈 외사판공실 주임 등 주요 관계자와 뇌학걸 쓰촨성 무역촉진위원회 부회장, 엄원재 주청두 대한민국 총영사, 변용섭 코트라 청두무역관장 등 주요 내빈 30여 명이 참석했다.

개소식 행사에 이어, 2월 11일(화)에는 쓰촨성 정부와 청두시청을 차례로 방문한다. 대구시 대표단은 스샤오린 쓰촨성장측에 한중협력을 다지는 홍준표 대구광역시장의 친서를 전달하고, 장타오 쓰촨성 외사판공실 주임, 천옌푸 청두시 당 부서기 등 중국 측 주요 인사들을 예방한다.

이를 통해, 한중 친선축구, 상호 예술단 초청, 대구대공원 판다 대여 등 다양한 교류방안에 대해 논의하고, 대구사무소 운영 지원을 포함한 공고한 경제협력을 당부할 예정이다.

홍준표 시장은 “국제정세의 불확실성으로 글로벌 경제에 수많은 리스크가 상존하는 만큼, 대외적인 협력과 교류는 어느 때보다 중요할 것이다”며, “청두사무소가 양국 경제문화교류 확대의 거점으로 자리 잡아, 지역기업의 중국 진출을 돕고, 글로벌 도시 대구로 도약하는데 큰 역할을 할 것으로 기대한다”고 말했다.

Since signing the sister city agreement in November 2015, Daegu City and Chengdu City have maintained a steady exchange and cooperation relationship in various fields such as economy, culture, and art, as well as personal exchanges such as university student camp exchanges, participation in art groups, and hosting medical tourism briefing sessions.

With the opening of the ‘Daegu Chengdu Office,’ Daegu City has become the first local government in Korea to have a local office in Sichuan Province and Chengdu City.

The opening ceremony was attended by around 30 key figures including Deputy Mayor of Economic Affairs of Daegu Metropolitan City, Standing Committee Member of the Chengdu City Council, Zhang Bin, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office, Vice Chairman of the Sichuan Trade Promotion Committee, Lei Xuejiel, Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Chengdu, and Director of the KOTRA Chengdu Trade Center.

Following the opening ceremony, the delegation will visit the Sichuan Provincial Government and Chengdu City Hall in turn on Tuesday, February 11. The Daegu City delegation will deliver a personal letter from Daegu Mayor Hong Junpyo to Sichuan Province Governor Shi Xiaolin, emphasizing Korea-China cooperation, and visit key Chinese figures such as Zhang Tao, Director of the Sichuan Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, and Chen Yanfu, Deputy Secretary of the Chengdu City Party.

Through this, they plan to discuss various exchange measures such as Korea-China friendly soccer matches, mutual invitations to art troupes, and rental of pandas at Daegu Grand Park, and request solid economic cooperation including support for the operation of the Daegu Office.

Mayor Hong Joon-pyo said, “As the uncertainty of the international situation presents numerous risks to the global economy, external cooperation and exchanges are more important than ever,” and “I expect that the Chengdu office will serve as a base for expanding economic and cultural exchanges between the two countries, helping local companies advance into China, and playing a major role in Daegu’s leap forward as a global city.”
