【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=조국혁신당 대구시당은 대구시의 기억학교 운영 지침 변경 철회를 촉구하며 12일 논평을 발표했다.

지난 1월 대구시는 경증치매노인 종합지원시설인 기억학교의 운영지침을 변경하면서 해당 시설 이용기간을 1년6개월로 단축하는 계획을 발표했다.

조국혁신당 대구시당은 “대구시는 기억학교 운영지침 변경과정에서 당사자인 입소자 및 보호자들과 어떠한 의견 수렴 및 협의절차가 없었다”며 “또한 일방적으로 운영지침을 변경한 후 더 이상 기억학교에 입소할 수 없는 치매노인들에 대한 향우 지원대책 또한 부재하다”고 지적했다.

그러면서 “대한민국은 초고령사회로 진입했고 자연스럽게 치매노인도 증가할 수밖에 없다”며 “그럼에도 불구하고 일방적인 운영지침 변경은 대구시 스스로 노인복지를 포기하는 것과 마찬가지”라고 꼬집었다.

또한 “대구시는 경증치매노인(60세이상) 뿐만 아니라 초로기(45-60세) 치매환자를 신규 서비스 수혜자로 확대하기 위한 조치라고 하지만 이들에 대한 서비스 수요 예상도 정확히 파악하지 못하고 있는 실정”이라고 비판했다.

조국혁신당 대구시당은 “치매환자에 대한 지원 서비스를 확대하는 것은 적극 환영할 일이나 기존 서비스를 축소해 다른 곳에 제공하는 것은 조삼모사에 불과하다”며 “기억학교 운영지침 일방적 변경을 철회하고 오히려 노인복지를 강화해야 한다”고 강조했다.
