13일 청도군에 따르면 이번 정월대보름 민속한마당 행사는 전통 민속놀이와 현대적 감각이 어우러진 다채로운 행사로관광객에게 특별한 경험을 선사하며 전통과 현대가 만나는 화합 한마당의 장으로 자리매김했다는 평가를 받고 있다.

이날 행사는 오전 11시경 5.6km에 달하는 줄 시가지 행진으로 시작으로청도읍 일대가 전통 축제의 열기로 물들었다.

이어진 도주줄당기기 행사는 동군과 서군으로 나눠 2천여 명의 군민과관광객이 함께 힘을모아 직접 참여함으로써 전통과 화합의 가치를 몸소 느낄 수 있는 뜻깊은 경험의 순간을 제공했으며, 서군의 승리로 막을 내렸다.

일몰 후, 월출시간인 오후 5시 43분경 높이 20m, 폭 13m에 달하는 전국 최대규모의웅장한 달집 점화를 시작으로 달집태우기 행사가 시작됐다.관광객들은 활활 타오르는 달집의 불길을 바라보며 소원을 빌고, 액운을 태우며 올 한해 풍년 농사와 각자의 소원성취를 기원했다.
