특히3일 구미시에 따르면 ‘전입학생 학업장려금 지원사업’ 신청자 수를 분석한 결과, 2024년 전입 신청자는 1,097명으로 2023년 902명 대비 195명(21%) 증가했다.

이에 시는 청년 전입 확산기에 성공적으로 진입하기 위해 2월 13일 시청 대강당에서 ‘구미愛 주소갖기 협약식’과 ‘구미 주소지킴이 발대식’을 개최했다.

행사에는 국립금오공과대학교, 경운대학교, 구미대학교, 한국폴리텍대학 구미캠퍼스 지역 내 4개 대학 총장 및 학장, 대학생 주소지킴이 80명이 참석했다.

이번 협약을 통해 구미시와 대학 간 협력을 강화하고, 대학별 20명의 주소지킴이를 위촉해 활동을 확대한다. 지난해 40명 규모에서 80명으로 늘어난 주소지킴이는 신입생 오리엔테이션, 기숙사 입구, 대학 축제 등 학생들이 많이 모이는 장소에서 전입 홍보 활동을 진행할 예정이다.

김장호 구미시장은 “서울로 유출되는 학생의 발걸음을 잡기 위해 구미시가 많은 노력을 하고 있다”며 “친구따라 구미간다는 이야기가 나올 수 있도록 대학생과 함께하는 이번 구미愛 주소갖기 운동을 반전의 기회로 삼겠다”고 했다.
