【브레이크뉴스 구미】이성현 기자=2025 구미아시아육상경기선수권대회 조직위원회(공동위원장 김장호, 육현표)가 대회 준비에 속도를 내고 있다.

조직위는 2월 13일부터 14일까지 아시아육상연맹(AA) 현지 실사단이 구미를 방문하여 경기장과 대회 관련 주요 시설을 점검했고 밝혔다.

이번 실사는 지난해 5월 진행된 1차에 이어 두 번째 현장 점검이며, 대회 준비 상황을 국제 기준에 맞춰 평가받는 과정으로, 성공적인 개최를 위한 필수 절차다.

아시아육상연맹 기술대표 발슨(인도)과 쟈넷(필리핀), 대한육상연맹 관계자를 비롯한 20여 명이 경기장과 대회 운영계획 등을 면밀히 확인했다.

조직위는 경기장 시설, 교통, 숙박, 자원봉사자 운영 등 전반적인 준비 사항을 완벽하게 점검하고, 대회기간 동안 선수들과 관람객 모두에게 최고의 경험을 제공하기 위해 빈틈 없이 준비하고 있다.

조직위는 오는 2월 17일 오후 4시 구미문화예술회관에서 대회 준비 상황을 시민들에게 공유하는 ‘성공다짐! D-100 시민 보고회’를 개최한다. 또한 K-POP 페스티벌 전야제와 국제대회 위상에 맞는 개회식을 통해 대회의 품격을 한층 높이고, 전 세계가 주목하는 글로벌 스포츠 도시 구미로 도약시킬 계획이다.

The 2025 Gumi Asian Athletics Championships Organizing Committee (Co-chairs Kim Jang-ho and Yuk Hyeon-pyo) is speeding up preparations for the competition.

The Organizing Committee announced that the Asian Athletics Federation (AA) On-site Inspection Team visited Gumi from February 13 to 14 to inspect the stadium and major facilities related to the competition.

This inspection is the second on-site inspection following the first one conducted in May of last year, and is an essential procedure for a successful hosting as it is a process of evaluating the preparation status of the competition according to international standards.

A total of 20 people, including Asian Athletics Federation technical representatives Balson (India) and Janet (Philippines) and officials from the Korea Association of Athletics Federations, closely inspected the stadium and the competition operation plan.

The Organizing Committee is thoroughly inspecting the overall preparations including stadium facilities, transportation, accommodation, and volunteer operation, and is making thorough preparations to provide the best experience to both athletes and spectators during the competition.

The organizing committee will hold a ‘Success Pledge! D-100 Citizen Report’ to share the status of preparations for the competition with citizens at 4 PM on February 17th at the Gumi Cultural Arts Center. In addition, the prestige of the competition will be further enhanced through a K-POP Festival eve event and an opening ceremony befitting the status of an international competition, and Gumi will leap forward as a global sports city that attracts attention from around the world.
