양사는 앞으로‘실무워킹그룹’을 운영할 예정이며, 양사의 강점이 있는 분야의 역량을 적극 활용하여 청정에너지 공급 및 SMR 등 미래 성장 사업 분야에서 시너지를 낼 수 있는 다양한 협력 아이템을 발굴해 추진해 나갈 계획이다.

황주호 한수원 사장은 “이번 협약 체결은 포스코그룹과 청정·그린 에너지 분야에서의 협력을 통해 양사가 탄소중립의 핵심 파트너로서 자리매김하기 위한 첫발을 내딛는 자리”라며, “이번 협력이 공기업과 민간기업 간 협력의 모범 사례로 자리매김하고, 더 나아가 국가 온실가스 감축 목표 달성 및 글로벌 탄소중립의 밑거름이 되길 기대한다”라고 말했다.

장인화 포스코그룹 회장은 “한국 철강산업의 대전환을 위해서는 수소환원제철 기술개발과 경쟁력 있는 에너지원 확보가 필수적이다. 포스코그룹은 2050 탄소중립을 목표로 저탄소 철강 시대를 선도하고자 하며, 양사 간 협력을 통해 새로운 시너지를 창출해나가길 기대한다”고 밝혔다.

Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd.
