물종합기술연찬회는 세계 물의 날을 맞아 기후변화로 인한 물 부족 문제, 친환경 물순환 시스템 구축 등 한정된 물의 소중함을 되새기고, 국내‧외 물관리정책과 글로벌 물 환경 이슈에 선제적으로 대응하기 위해 2004년부터 매년 개최하는 우리나라 대표적인 물 분야 종합 연찬회다.

이날 연찬회는 물관리 최우수기관과 공무원에 대해 시상하고, 권지향 대한상하수도학회장의‘기후변화 대응을 위한 국제 물 기술 표준 인‧검증 동향’을 주제로 한 특별강연에 이어, 상수‧디지털 물 기술 분과, 하수‧물 재이용 분과, 지하수 분과 등 분야별 최근 글로벌 물 환경 이슈에 대응하기 위한 다양한 사례와 신기술 발표로 진행됐다.

특히, 환경부의 인증과 검증을 받아 국내외 현장에서 많이 적용되고 있는 우수환경 신기술 실용화 사례 발표와 ㈜에싸 등 경상북도 물산업 선도기업 9개 사를 포함한 91여 개 물 관련 기업이 참여한 다양한 수처리 분야 제품 전시는 참가자들로부터 큰 호응을 얻었다.

2025 APEC 정상회의 개최지인 경주에서 열리는 만큼, 정상회의의 성공적인 개최를 위한 홍보활동도 함께 진행됐다.

행사장 내에서는 정상회의의 핵심 메시지를 담은 홍보영상과 AI 홍보송을 재생했으며, 전시장에는 별도의 홍보부스를 마련해 리플릿과 홍보물을 배포함으로써 참가자들에게 정상회의의 의미와 중요성을 효과적으로 전달하는 계기가 됐다.

이철우 경상북도지사는 격려사를 통해 “2025 APEC 정상회의 개최지인 경주에서 물종합기술연찬회가 열리게 돼 더욱 뜻깊다.”며, “맑은 물 공급을 위해 민‧관‧학이 함께 힘을 모으고, 한정된 물 자원을 효율적으로 관리해 지속 가능한 내일을 만들 수 있도록 우리 도에서도 적극 노력하겠다.”고 전했다.

Gyeongbuk Province, Gyeongju hosts the 42nd Water Technology Seminar

The 42nd Water Technology Seminar, co-hosted by Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, Gyeongju City, and the National Assembly Environmental Forum and sponsored by the Ministry of Environment, Korea Environment Corporation, K-water, and Korea Water Technology Certification Institute, was held at the Lahan Hotel Gyeongju Convention Hall from the 13th to the 14th.

The Water Technology Seminar is Korea’s representative comprehensive water-related seminar that has been held annually since 2004 to reflect on the importance of limited water, such as water shortages due to climate change and the establishment of eco-friendly water circulation systems, and to proactively respond to domestic and international water management policies and global water environment issues on World Water Day.

The symposium on this day presented awards to the best water management organizations and public officials, and a special lecture by Kwon Ji-hyang, President of the Korean Society of Waterworks and Wastewater, on the topic of ‘Trends in Certification and Verification of International Water Technology Standards for Climate Change Response’, followed by presentations of various cases and new technologies to respond to recent global water environment issues by sectors such as the Waterworks and Digital Water Technology Division, the Sewage and Water Reuse Division, and the Groundwater Division.

In particular, the presentation of cases of practical application of excellent new environmental technologies that have been certified and verified by the Ministry of Environment and are widely applied in domestic and international fields, and the exhibition of various water treatment products by 91 water-related companies including 9 leading water industry companies in Gyeongsangbuk-do such as Essa Co., Ltd., received a great response from the participants.

Since the summit was held in Gyeongju, the host city of the 2025 APEC Summit, promotional activities were also carried out to ensure the successful hosting of the summit.

Within the venue, a promotional video and AI promotional song containing the summit’s core messages were played, and a separate promotional booth was set up in the exhibition hall to distribute leaflets and promotional materials, effectively conveying the meaning and importance of the summit to participants.

In his words of encouragement, Gyeongsangbuk-do Governor Lee Cheol-woo said, “It is even more meaningful that the Water Technology Seminar is being held in Gyeongju, the host city of the 2025 APEC Summit.” He added, “Our province will also actively work to ensure that the public, private, and academic sectors work together to supply clean water and efficiently manage limited water resources to create a sustainable tomorrow.”
