【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=포항시는 고용노동부가 주관하는 ‘2025년 청년도전지원사업’ 공모에 선정돼 국비 5억 1천만 원을 확보했다고 19일 밝혔다.

이번 공모 선정으로 포항시는 취업을 하지 않거나 교육 및 직업훈련에 참여하지 않는 청년들이 구직 의지를 되찾고 사회에 진출할 수 있도록 적극 지원할 예정이다.

이 사업의 대상은 18~34세 청년으로, 구직단념 청년, 아동복지시설 퇴소 후 5년 이내의 청년, 청소년 복지시설 입·퇴소 청년, 북한 이탈 청년, 아르바이트를 하는 청년 등 다양한 계층을 포함한다.

포항시는 총 120명의 청년을 대상으로 단기(5주 이상, 30명), 중기(15주 이상, 60명), 장기(5개월 이상, 30명) 과정으로 구분해 맞춤형 프로그램을 운영할 계획이다.

이 프로그램은 진로 탐색, 취업 역량 강화, 취미 개발, 동아리 활동, 지역 기업 연계 취·창업 교육 등을 포함하며, 참여자에게는 수당이 지급된다. 단기 과정에는 50만 원, 중기 과정에는 150만 원, 장기 과정에는 250만 원의 수당이 지급되며, 프로그램 이수 시 추가 인센티브도 제공된다.

또한, 프로그램 이수 후 6개월 이내에 취·창업하고 3개월 근속한 경우 50만 원의 취·창업 인센티브를 지급하며, 취업활동에 대한 지속적인 지원도 제공된다.

포항시는 ㈜경북고용성장지원센터 포항지점과 협력해 사업 계획을 수립하고, 청년 모집 및 프로그램 운영을 본격적으로 시작할 예정이다. 이강덕 포항시장은 "청년도전지원사업을 통해 지역 청년들이 밝은 미래를 설계할 수 있도록 지속적인 지원을 아끼지 않겠다"고 말했다.

한편, 포항시는 ‘포항 주력산업 기업 지원 및 퇴직청년 구직 지원사업’ 공모에서도 선정돼 청년 고용 문제 해결을 위한 기반을 마련하고 있으며, 행정안전부 주관 ‘청년마을만들기 사업’에도 참여하고 있다.
