울진군은 원전의 무탄소 전력을 활용한 ‘원자력·수소 국가산업단지’ 건설을 제안하며 큰 성과를 거두었다. 2023년 3월, 이 사업은 최종 후보지로 선정된 후, 2023년 6월 정부로부터 예비타당성 면제를 확정받아 본격적인 사업 추진에 속도를 내고 있다. 이 프로젝트는 지방소멸 위기를 극복하고 지역 발전과 국가 경쟁력을 높이는 중요한 기반이 될 것으로 기대된다.

Uljin-gun achieved great results by proposing the construction of a ‘nuclear power and hydrogen national industrial complex’ utilizing carbon-free electricity from nuclear power plants.
