24일 송언석 위원장은 국민의힘 경선후보인 김응규 후보, 배낙호 후보를 만나 공정한 경선과 선의의 경쟁을 당부했다.

이날 두 후보는 경선 결과 승복을 서약하는 서약서를 작성했다. 후보들이 직접 서명한 서약서는 네거티브 없는 공정한 경선 다짐과 경선 결과에 무조건적 승복을 약속하는 내용이다.

송 위원장은 “후보들이 경북도당 공천관리위원회의 경선 과정과 결과를 신뢰해야만, 시민들께서도 믿고 선택할 수 있다”며 “경선 이후에는 공정하게 선출된 우리 후보가 압도적으로 승리할 수 있도록, 김천 당협 당원 모두가 힘을 모아야 한다”고 강조했다.

김천시장 재선거 후보자 경선은 24일과 25일 양일간 당원 조사 및 일반국민 여론조사를 통해 실시된다.
