【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=대구시교육청(교육감 강은희)은 영유아의 정서, 심리, 언어 발달을 지원하기 위해 ‘유아 맞춤형 발달지원 사업’을 올해 더욱 강화한다고 7일 밝혔다. 이 사업은 영유아기 정서·행동 위기 아동을 대상으로 맞춤형 발달을 지원하는 프로그램이다.

대구시교육청은 지난해 325명의 유아에게 ‘찾아가는 맞춤형 발달지원 코칭’을 제공했으며, 학부모의 98.3%가 만족한다고 응답했다. 또한, 교사들은 유아들의 기관 적응력과 교육 활동 참여도가 향상되는 등의 긍정적인 변화를 보고했다고 전했다.

올해는 유아 발달지원 사업의 대상, 인원, 범위, 내용을 확대하여 유아의 맞춤형 성장·발달 지원을 강화할 계획이다. 

우선, 유치원 및 어린이집에 재원 중인 유아 중 발달 지원이 필요한 유아뿐 아니라 부적응, ADHD, 과잉 행동 등 일상적인 마음 돌봄이 필요한 유아까지 대상을 확대하여 400여 명의 유아에게 50회 내외의 ‘찾아가는 발달지원 코칭’을 제공한다. 

이를 위해 ‘유아 맞춤형 코칭단’ 50명을 운영하며, 학부모가 원하는 경우 코칭단을 통해 보호자 상담과 정보 제공 서비스를 올해부터 새롭게 제공할 예정이다.

또한, 발달 지연(경계선 지능) 유아에 대해서는 유아 전문 진단 및 바우처 기관, 육아종합지원센터 등 외부 전문기관과 연계하여 유아별 교육적 요구에 맞는 프로그램도 지원할 예정이다.

강은희 교육감은 “성장의 결정적 시기인 유아기에 맞춤형 지원을 통해 교육적 사각지대가 발생하지 않도록 다각적이고 전문적인 지원에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
