이 자리에는 이경옥 문경교육장, 송명선 문경축협조합장, 박세정 사모도 함께 참여해 따뜻한 동행을 이어갔다. 둘레길을 걸은 후에는 오찬과 파크골프를 통해 더욱 돈독한 관계를 다지며 소중한 시간을 보냈다.

박인원 전 시장은 민선 3기 동안 문경시정을 이끌며 문경새재유스호스텔 개관, 문경레저타운 골프장 조성, 철로자전거 운행 등 관광 및 휴양도시로서의 기반을 마련했다. 또한, 지방자치단체 최초로 2만여 명의 시민이 주주로 참여한 문경관광개발 주식회사를 설립하는 등 문경 발전에 큰 기여를 했다. 현재도 퇴임 시장 중 유일하게 지역에 거주하며 복지법인을 운영, 주민복지에 앞장서고 있다.
