이번 점검은 초등 1~2학년으로 확대된 늘봄학교 운영 현황과 학생 안전 관리 상황을 살펴보고, 학교 현장의 애로사항을 지원하기 위해 마련됐다.

대구남산초는 447명의 초등 1~2학년 학생 중 328명(73.8%)이 늘봄학교에 참여하고 있으며, 독서(문해력), 창의사고력놀이, 색으로말해요 등 다양한 질 높은 프로그램을 운영하고 있다.

강 교육감은 이날 늘봄 프로그램 운영과 학생 귀가 안전 등을 점검하고, 교직원들과의 간담회를 통해 현장의 의견을 청취한 뒤, 늘봄학교 운영에 필요한 지원을 아끼지 않을 것이라고 밝혔다.

한편, 대구시교육청은 3월 21일까지 신학기 안정적인 늘봄학교 운영을 위해, 참여 학생이 많은 학교나 요청이 있는 학교를 대상으로 ‘늘봄학교 맞춤형 컨설팅’을 진행하고 있다.

강 교육감은 "늘봄학교가 안정적으로 운영될 수 있도록 학기 초에 집중 지원하고, 학생이 안전하며 학부모가 안심할 수 있는 대구의 늘봄학교가 될 수 있도록 지속적으로 살피겠다"고 말했다.
