【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=포항시의회(의장 김일만)는 3월 17일 오전, 남구 구룡포읍에 위치한 구룡포사랑나눔의 집에서 배식 봉사활동을 실시했다. 이날 봉사활동에는 김일만 의장을 비롯한 의원들과 의회사무국 직원 10여 명이 참여했다.

김일만 의장과 의원들은 급식소를 찾은 어르신들에게 따뜻한 식사를 제공하며 온정을 나누었으며, 급식소 방문 어르신들과 담소를 나누며 생활 속 불편한 점이나 개선이 필요한 부분에 대한 다양한 의견을 나누는 시간을 가졌다.

김일만 의장은 “경제가 어려운 시기일수록 이웃을 더욱 돌아보는 관심이 절실하다”며, “앞으로도 시의회는 지역사회의 복지 증진을 위해 지속적으로 봉사하고 나눔을 실천해 지역사회에 이바지하겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 포항시의회는 지난해 7월 제9대 후반기 의회 출범 이후, 매월 무료급식소 배식 봉사활동을 이어가며 시민과 소통하는 의정 활동을 실천하고 있다.
