국제물산업박람회는 2002년부터 매년 개최된 물산업 분야의 전문 박람회로, 한국상하수도협회가 주최하며, 상하수도 관련 기자재 전시회와 세미나, 컨퍼런스, 구매상담회 등 다양한 연계 행사가 동시에 열려 물산업의 비즈니스 장으로 자리 잡았다. 

이번 박람회에는 전국의 유망 물기업과 정부 관계자, 학계, 연구소, 해외 바이어들이 한자리에 모여 활발한 교류가 이루어졌다.

대구도시개발공사와 대구시는 박람회에 참가한 210여 개 물기업을 대상으로, 대구시 달성군 대구국가산업단지 내 국가물산업클러스터 산업용지 분양을 위한 공동 기업 유치 활동을 전개했다.

특히 3월 20일, 행사 둘째 날에는 한국물기술인증원 주최의 세미나에서 대구시 담당 주무관이 물기업의 해외 진출을 지원하기 위한 대구시 물산업 육성 정책과 다양한 지원 사업을 소개하며, 우수 물기업의 대구 유치를 위한 적극적인 노력을 기울였다. 

이번 박람회에서의 공동 유치 활동은 국가물산업클러스터의 기업 유치를 더욱 가속화할 것으로 기대되며, 이를 통해 지역 산업 발전과 일자리 창출 등 지역 경제 활성화에도 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 것으로 보인다.

대구국가산업단지 내 물산업클러스터 기업집적단지는 지난해 ㈜나무, ㈜제이텍워터, ㈜내강산업 등 3개 기업을 포함해 현재 39개 물기업이 입주해 있으며, 전체 분양률은 72%에 달한다. 대구도시개발공사와 대구광역시는 오는 5월 2025년 상반기 분양을 목표로 추가 기업 유치 활동을 이어갈 계획이다.

정명섭 대구도시개발공사 사장은 “우수한 물산업 기업 유치를 위해 대구시와 협력해 적극적으로 기업 유치 활동을 이어가며, 지역 경제 활성화에 기여할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Daegu Urban Development Corporation (CEO Jeong Myeong-seop) and Daegu Metropolitan City jointly participated in the International Water Industry Expo (WATER KOREA 2025) held at KINTEX in Ilsan, Gyeonggi Province for three days from March 19 to 21, and carried out activities to attract companies to the National Water Industry Cluster in the National Industrial Complex in Dalseong-gun, Daegu.

The International Water Industry Expo is a specialized expo in the water industry that has been held annually since 2002. Hosted by the Korea Waterworks and Wastewater Association, it has established itself as a business venue for the water industry by simultaneously hosting various related events such as water supply and wastewater equipment exhibitions, seminars, conferences, and purchasing consultations.

This expo brought together promising water companies, government officials, academia, research institutes, and overseas buyers from all over the country, and active exchanges took place.

Daegu Urban Development Corporation and Daegu City carried out joint corporate attraction activities for the distribution of industrial land for the National Water Industry Cluster in the Daegu National Industrial Complex in Dalseong-gun, Daegu City, targeting approximately 210 water companies that participated in the expo.

In particular, on March 20, the second day of the event, at a seminar hosted by the Korea Water Technology Certification Institute, the Daegu City official in charge introduced Daegu City’s water industry promotion policy and various support projects to support overseas expansion of water companies, and made active efforts to attract excellent water companies to Daegu.

The joint attraction activities at this expo are expected to further accelerate the attraction of companies to the National Water Industry Cluster, and through this, it is expected to have a positive effect on the local economy, such as regional industrial development and job creation.

The Daegu National Industrial Complex’s water industry cluster corporate cluster currently houses 39 water companies, including three companies last year: Namu Co., Ltd., J-Tech Water Co., Ltd., and Naegang Industry Co., Ltd., and the overall distribution rate is 72%. Daegu Urban Development Corporation and Daegu Metropolitan City plan to continue additional corporate attraction activities with the goal of selling in the first half of 2025 starting in May.
