11일 오전 국민의힘 대구시당에서 기자간담회를 개최한 유승민 전 의원은 “국민의힘이 100% 국민여론조사라고 말하면서 경선 1,2,3차 모두 역선택 방지 조항을 적용하는 것은 국민을 속이는 것”이라고 지적했다.

그는 “대선은 전 국민을 대상으로 최선의 노력을 다해서 국민의 표를 얻고자하는 것”이라며 “민주당이나 다른 정당에서도 이재명 대표를 지지하지 않는 분들이 있기 때문에 그런 국민들의 마음을 얻어야하는데 국민의힘 경선룰은 그런 분들을 배제하는 것”이라고 꼬집었다.

그러면서 “이런 경선 룰로는 대선을 이길 수도 국민이 진짜 원하는 후보를 낼 수도 없다”며 “당 지도부와 선관위는 대선 패배는 기정사실화하고 그 다음 당권을 잡으려는 생각뿐인 것이 아닌가를 비판하지 않을 수 없다”고 강조했다.

유승민 전 의원은 불출마 가능성을 시사하기도 했다. 그는 “이런 룰로 국민에 표를 달라고 호소 할 수 있겠나 하는 생각을 분명히 말씀드리며 출마 요구에 대해서는 정리를 해서 입장을 밝히겠다”고 덧붙였다.
