브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 함인경 국민의힘 대변인은 18일 "민주당 대선 경선 여론조사를 맡게 된 업체 중 한 곳이, 지난 총선 당시 '비명횡사' 논란의 중심에 섰던 업체의 후신이라는 사실이 드러났다"고 말했다.

함 대변인은 이날 논평을 통해 "해당 업체는 대표이사도 동일하고, 주소도 같으며, 사명만 바꾼 사실상 동일한 업체"라며 "과거 공정성 논란으로 배제됐고, 친명계 개입 의혹까지 불거졌던 곳"이라고 지적했다.

그는 "이 업체는 지난 22대 총선 당시 비명계 현역 의원이 있는 지역구에서 해당 의원을 여론조사 대상에서 제외하는 방식으로 조사를 진행해 논란을 일으켰다"라며 "입찰에서 탈락한 뒤 뒤늦게 추가 선정되는 과정에서 친명계 지도부가 개입했다는 의혹이 제기됐고, 당시 선관위원장은 '허위 보고를 받고 속았다'며 사퇴까지 했다"고 강조했다.

함 대변인은 "결국 해당 업체는 스스로 물러났고, 이재명 전 대표는 윤리감찰을 지시했지만 결과는 어디에도 없다"고 비판했다.

그는 "이번 논란에 대해 민주당은 '무작위 추첨'이라고 해명했지만, 선정 기준을 통과한 업체가 5개였고 이 중 4곳을 추첨했다는 점에서 이는 사실상 '추첨의 이름을 빌린 승인'에 가깝다"고 말했다.

그는 "후보가 떳떳하고 당당하다면 절차는 열어두는 법이고, 감출 것이 많고 지켜야 할 것이 많기 때문에 경선 절차마저 '설계'하려는 것"이라고 주장했다.

마지막으로 함 대변인은 "지금 민주당이 보여주는 모습은 ‘한 사람을 위한 방탄 절차’에 불과하며, 유권자가 목격하는 ‘이재명 추대식’은 결국 대선 본선에서 철저히 외면받게 될 것"이라고 말했다.
