협의회는 4월 21일부터 30일까지 안동, 의성, 청송, 영양, 영덕 등 산불 피해지역을 순차적으로 방문한다. 이번 성금은 피해지역을 제외한 경북 17개 시·군의회 의장들이 자발적으로 모금한 것으로, 5개 조로 나누어 각 시·군의회에 540만 원씩을 전달할 예정이다.

경북시군의회의장협의회장인 이동협 경주시의회 의장은 21일 울릉군의회 의장과 함께 영덕군의회를 방문해 성금을 전달하며 “경북의 모든 시·군의회가 한마음으로 피해 주민들의 조속한 회복을 기원하고 있다”며 “이번 성금이 실질적인 도움이 되기를 바란다”고 말했다.

이어 “산불 피해 복구를 위해 기부와 후원에 동참해주신 많은 분들께도 감사드리며, 앞으로도 지속적인 관심과 응원을 부탁드린다”고 덧붙였다.

이번 성금 전달은 단순한 위로를 넘어 지역 간 상생과 연대의 의미를 담고 있으며, 지역 의회가 재난 대응과 주민 지원에 있어 적극적인 역할을 수행하고 있음을 보여주는 사례로 평가받고 있다.
