21일 오랜만에 대구를 찾은 나경원 의원은 안철수 의원과의 논쟁에 대한 의견을 묻는 질문에 “어제도 안 후보님 말씀하시던데”라며 “급하신 것 같다”고 안 후보를 겨냥했다. 

나 의원은 “제가 드릴 말씀은 우리가 사실은 탄핵을 반대한 분들도 찬성한 분들도 다 마음을 모아서 결국 대한민국의 헌법 가치를 두고 미래를 봐야 된다는 취지, 그런 대답으로 보시면 된다”고 강조했다. 이어 그는 “조기대선이 실시되는 과정을 보면서 의회 민주주의가 이렇게 망가질 수 있나 생각했다. 한 축에서는 국정을 마비시키고, 또 이렇게 조기 대선까지 온 것에 대해서는 관여된 모든 정치권 이 책임져야 한다고 생각한다. 그런 측면에서 저 역시 국민들게 죄송하다는 말씀을 드린다“고 말했다. 

중도층 소구력이 낮은 것 아니냐는 지적에 대하여  나 의원은 “제가 중도층 호소력이 낮다는 것도 편견이다. 제 지역구인 동작구는 우리 당에게 그리 우호적인 지역이 아니다.”라는 답으로 대신했다.  

현실의 중요성을 어느 층보다 소중히 생각하는 중도층의 성향상 자신을 지역구 국회의원으로 선출한 데는 이들을 흡수할 만한 경쟁력이 본인에게도 충분하다는 뜻으로 해석된다. 실제 그는 1위부터 5위까지 거론되는 후보들을 대상으로 “어느 분보다도 가장 오랫동안 현장 정치를 가장 치열하게 해온 사람”이라며 “누구보다 현장 정치를 잘 할 자신이 있다”고 주장했다.

나 의원의 주장에 안철수 의원은 21일에도 대구를 다시 찾아 “(나경원 의원은) 몰염치의 끝”이라고 비난하면서 “탄핵 각하를 외치던 분이 탄핵이 인용되자마자 대선 판에 뛰어든 모습 당원들은 다 기억하고 있다”고 말했다.

안 의원은 나 의원이 주장하는 윤 전 대통령과의 단일화를 통해 수혜를 본 당사자라는 표현 관련, “(나 의원은) 제가 윤 전 대통령과 단일화를 하면서 여당 중진으로서의 혜택을 본 분”이라고 표현했다. 나 후보가 자신을 향해 “남의 둥지에 알 낳고 다니는 뻐꾸기 그만하시고 차라리 탈당하라”고 말 한 것을 두고도 “오히려 저한테 고맙다고 말씀하시는 게 순서”라고 맞받았다.

In response to Representative Na’s claim, Representative Ahn Cheol-soo visited Daegu again on the 21st and criticized her as “the height of shamelessness,” saying, “Party members all remember how someone who shouted for the impeachment to be dismissed jumped into the presidential election as soon as the impeachment was passed.”

Regarding Representative Na’s claim that she benefited from unification with former President Yoon, Representative Ahn said, “(Representative Na) is someone who benefited as a senior member of the ruling party when I unified with former President Yoon.” When Candidate Na told him, “You should stop being a cuckoo who lays eggs in other people’s nests and just leave the party,” Ahn responded, “It would be better for you to thank me instead.”
