양 기관은 지난 7일 대구신보 본점에서 업무협약을 체결하고, 농협은행이 대구신보에 11억 원을 특별출연하는 대신 대구신보는 출연금의 15배인 165억 원 규모의 협약보증을 시행하기로 했다.

올해 상반기 특별출연 15억 원과 이번 출연금 11억 원을 합치면 총 37억 원의 출연과 390억 원 규모의 협약보증이 진행된다.

협약보증은 대구시에 사업자등록을 한 중소기업과 소상공인을 대상으로 하며, 최대 4억 원 한도 내에서 보증 지원과 함께 보증 비율 최대 100%, 보증료 연 0.9% 고정 등 우대 혜택이 제공된다.

특히 대구시 경영안정자금과 연계 시 1년간 최대 2.2% 이자 지원도 가능해 높은 금융비용 부담을 덜어 소상공인의 경영난 해소에 크게 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

한편, 대구신보 이사회는 박진우 이사장의 임기 종료를 앞두고 업무 수행능력과 경영 연속성을 고려해 연임을 의결했으며, 대구광역시로부터 임명 통보를 받아 박 이사장이 제11대 이사장으로 연임됐다.
