이번 종합대책은 ▲지역경제 활성화 ▲시민 안전 확보 ▲불편 해소 ▲시민 편익 등 4대 분야를 중심으로 추진된다.

우선 지역경제 활성화를 위해 포항사랑상품권·온누리상품권 사용을 장려하고, 농·수산물 직거래 장터와 할인 행사 등을 운영해 전통시장과 명절 상권을 지원한다. 체불임금 예방 지도와 중소기업 근로자 지원 대책도 병행해 근로자와 소상공인의 걱정을 덜어줄 방침이다.

시민 안전을 위해 도로·교량·터널 등 주요 시설물을 점검하고, 응급환자 발생에 대비해 비상진료체계를 운영한다. 연휴 기간 급증하는 음식물 소비에 따른 식중독 예방 활동과 저소득층·취약계층 지원도 강화한다.

교통 불편을 줄이기 위한 특별수송 대책도 추진된다. 주요 귀성길과 터미널 주변 교통 관리를 강화하고 대중교통 운행을 증편하며, 쓰레기 수거·처리와 환경오염 관리 대책도 병행해 연휴 기간 불편을 최소화한다.

또한 주요 관광지와 해양 공원을 정비하고, 가족 단위 방문객들이 즐길 수 있는 문화 행사와 공연을 마련해 명절 분위기를 조성한다.
