이번 점검은 배추김치, 절임 배추, 고춧가루, 마늘, 생강 등 수요가 많은 양념류를 중심으로, 외국산을 국내산으로 속여 판매하거나, 국내산을 유명 지역산으로 둔갑시키는 행위를 중점적으로 점검한다.

경북농관원은 제조·판매업체, 통신판매업체, 일반 음식점 등을 대상으로 수입농산물 유통이력관리시스템과 통신판매 중개사이트, 쇼핑몰, 홈쇼핑, SNS 등을 모니터링하고, 부정행위가 의심되는 업체를 대상으로 현장 점검을 진행할 계획이다.

적발된 업체는 '농수산물의 원산지 표시 등에 관한 법률'에 따라, 거짓 표시 시 7년 이하 징역 또는 1억원 이하 벌금, 미표시 시 1천만 원 이하 과태료가 부과된다.

경북농관원 관계자는 “김장철을 맞아 주요 김치 원재료의 부정 유통이 증가할 가능성이 있다”며, “소비자들도 농식품 구매 시 원산지를 반드시 확인하고, 표시가 없거나 거짓 표시가 의심되면 부정유통신고센터(1588-8112)로 신고해 달라”고 당부했다.
