이강덕 포항시장은 5일 시청 대회의실에서 열린 ‘11월 확대간부회의’를 주재하며 도시 경쟁력 제고와 핵심 현안의 차질 없는 추진을 주문했다.

이날 회의에서는 ▲북유럽 방문 성과 보고 ▲국가예산 확보 현황 점검 ▲동절기 재해 대비 대책 등 주요 시정 현안이 집중 논의됐다. 특히 투자기업지원과와 배터리첨단산업과의 북유럽 방문을 통해 얻은 ‘국제학교 유치 및 북방경제 네트워크 확대’ 결과가 공유됐다.

이 시장은 “한파와 산불 등 겨울철 재해에 대비해 재해구조 시스템과 취약계층 지원 체계를 철저히 점검하라”며 “건조한 계절 특성상 산불 예방에도 모든 행정력을 투입하라”고 당부했다.

이강덕 시장은 정부의 철강산업 구조고도화 방안과 관련해 “지역 산업과 고용에 미치는 영향을 세밀히 분석해 기업과 근로자가 체감할 수 있는 근본적인 대응책을 마련해야 한다”고 강조했다.

또한 오는 포항~영덕고속도로 개통을 앞두고 “지역 경제와 관광산업이 활성화될 수 있도록 교통·숙박·홍보 등 모든 분야에서 빈틈없는 준비가 필요하다”고 말했다.
