【브레이크뉴스 경북】이성현 기자=경상북도는 19일부터 21일까지 울산전시컨벤션센터에서 열리는 ‘2025 대한민국 지방시대 엑스포’에 참가해 정부의 국가균형발전 정책 기조에 발맞춘 ‘5극 3특’ 국가균형성장 전략과 대구·경북 공동협력사업, 지능형(AI) 로봇 등 미래 비전을 공개한다.
대통령직속 지방시대위원회, 행정안전부, 산업통상자원부, 울산광역시가 공동 주최하는 이번 엑스포는 17개 시·도와 교육청, 중앙부처, 공공기관이 참여하는 국내 최대 규모의 정책 박람회다. 올해 행사는 ‘케이-밸런스(K-BALANCE) 2025’를 슬로건으로 내걸고 지역 주도 성장과 초광역 협력의 방향성을 제시한다.
경상북도와 대구광역시는 공동 전시주제로 ‘자연과 공존하는 미래, 오이소!! 대구·경북’을 선정해 유일한 통합 개방형 공동전시관을 운영한다. 전시관에서는 초광역 SOC, 미래전략산업, 문화·관광 등 3대 분야 중심의 공동협력 모델을 소개한다.
경북도는 신항만 개발, 대경권·동남권 철도망 확충 등 초광역 기반시설 구축뿐 아니라 AI 로봇, 수소에너지, 바이오·의료, 미래 모빌리티, 방위산업, 반도체 등 미래전략산업과 포스트-APEC 대응, 전통문화 ‘5한(韓)’ 국제 브랜드화 등 문화·관광 비전을 통합해 대구·경북의 미래 청사진을 제시한다.
특히 ‘경북의 힘으로 새로운 대한민국’을 주제로 포항 기업 ㈜뉴로메카가 개발한 첨단 휴머노이드 로봇 2종을 선보인다. 서비스 로봇 ‘NAMY’(나미)는 직접 팝콘을 나눠주며 관람객과 소통하고, 연구용 플랫폼 ‘ZEN’(젠)은 글로벌 인기를 얻고 있는 ‘케이팝 데몬 헌터스’ 복장을 착용해 기술과 K-컬처가 융합된 특별한 장면을 연출한다.
또한 경북 대표 관광지를 소개하는 영상 시청 후 지역 로컬기업의 디저트를 시식할 수 있는 체험 프로그램도 마련돼 관람객의 참여를 유도할 예정이다.
이철우 경상북도지사는 “지방시대 엑스포는 정부의 지역균형발전 의지를 보여주는 국민과의 약속이자, 지역 주도 국가 발전의 새로운 출발점”이라며 “경북은 초광역 협력과 혁신성장을 통해 ‘경북의 힘으로 새로운 대한민국’을 실현하고 균형발전의 모범을 만들겠다”고 말했다.

Gyeongsangbuk-do Province will participate in the '2025 Korea Local Era Expo' held at the Ulsan Exhibition and Convention Center from the 19th to the 21st. In line with the government's balanced national development policy, the province will unveil its future vision, including the "5-pole, 3-special" national balanced growth strategy, Daegu-Gyeongbuk joint cooperation projects, and intelligent (AI) robots.
Co-hosted by the Presidential Committee on Local Era, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and Ulsan Metropolitan City, this expo is the largest policy fair in Korea, with participation from 17 cities and provinces, offices of education, central government ministries, and public institutions. This year's event, under the slogan "K-BALANCE 2025," will present the direction of regional-led growth and metropolitan cooperation.
Gyeongsangbuk-do Province and Daegu Metropolitan City have chosen the joint exhibition theme, "A Future Coexisting with Nature, Oiso!! Daegu and Gyeongbuk," and will operate a unique, integrated, open joint exhibition hall. The exhibition hall will showcase collaborative models centered on three key areas: ultra-wide area SOC, future strategic industries, and culture and tourism.
Gyeongsangbuk-do Province will present a future blueprint for Daegu and Gyeongbuk by integrating its vision for culture and tourism, focusing not only on the development of ultra-wide area infrastructure, such as new port development and the expansion of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk and Southeastern railway networks, but also on future strategic industries such as AI robots, hydrogen energy, bio-medical, future mobility, the defense industry, and semiconductors, as well as its post-APEC response and the internationalization of the "Five Han" (Korean) traditional culture.
Under the theme of "A New Korea with the Power of Gyeongbuk," the exhibition will showcase two cutting-edge humanoid robots developed by Neuromeca Co., Ltd., a Pohang-based company. The service robot "NAMY" will personally distribute popcorn and interact with visitors, while the research platform "ZEN" will wear the outfit of the globally popular "K-pop Demon Hunters" to create a special scene that combines technology and K-culture.
Furthermore, an experiential program will be planned where visitors can sample desserts from local businesses after watching a video introducing Gyeongsangbuk-do's representative tourist destinations, encouraging participation.
Gyeongsangbuk-do Governor Lee Cheol-woo stated, "The Local Era Expo is a promise to the people that demonstrates the government's commitment to balanced regional development and a new starting point for regional-led national development. Gyeongsangbuk-do will realize a 'New Korea with the Power of Gyeongsangbuk-do' through regional cooperation and innovative growth and set an example of balanced development."
