【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=포항시는 5일 체인지업그라운드에서 ‘2025 제2회 POHANG AI & ART WEEK’를 개막하고, 오는 13일까지 9일간 청소년 대상 인공지능(AI) 융합체험 프로그램을 운영한다고 밝혔다. 이번 행사는 교육발전특구 대학연계 교육사업 중 글로벌 인재양성사업의 일환으로 마련됐다.

‘AI & ART WEEK’는 AI 기술과 예술 활동을 접목한 체험형 프로그램으로, 청소년들이 기술 기반 창작 과정을 직접 경험하도록 구성됐다. 시는 이를 통해 지역 청소년에게 수준 높은 대학 연계 교육 기회를 제공하고 글로벌 경쟁력을 갖춘 창의 인재를 육성한다는 목표다.

포항시의 대표 미래교육 프로그램인 ‘글로벌 인재양성사업’은 지역 대학의 연구 역량과 교육 자원을 기반으로 초·중·고 학생 맞춤형 특화 교육을 제공하는 사업이다. 포스텍은 이 가운데 ‘청소년 수리 인공지능 아카데미’를 맡아 수학적 원리와 AI 기술을 접목한 교육을 운영하고 있으며, 이번 행사 역시 해당 과정의 확장 프로그램으로 기획됐다.

행사 기간에는 AI 기반 설치예술 작품 전시와 함께 ▲‘인공지능과 예술’ 강연 ▲국내 작가 3인 아티스트 토크 ▲청소년 AI 영상 워크숍 ▲‘인공지능과 영화’ 특별 강연 ▲AI 작곡 국악 공연 및 국악기 체험 ▲청소년 AI 예술공모전 시상식 등이 진행된다.

특히 13일 열리는 청소년 AI 예술공모전 시상식에서는 지난 11월 접수된 작품 중 우수작으로 선정된 6명의 수상작이 공개된다. 참가 학생들은 직접 제작한 AI 기반 예술 작품을 발표하며 창작 역량을 선보일 예정이다.

포항시 관계자는 “이번 행사는 지역 청소년이 AI 시대에 요구되는 창의적 역량을 기를 수 있는 기회”라며 “지역 대학과 연계한 특화 교육을 통해 청소년이 지역에서 성장하고 정착할 수 있는 기반을 마련하겠다”고 말했다.

Pohang City announced the opening of the '2025 2nd POHANG AI & ART WEEK' at Change Up Ground on the 5th, offering a nine-day artificial intelligence (AI) convergence experience program for youth until the 13th. This event is part of the Global Talent Development Project, part of the university-linked education project of the Education Development Special Zone.

'AI & ART WEEK' is an experiential program that combines AI technology and art activities, allowing youth to experience the technology-based creative process firsthand. Through this program, the city aims to provide local youth with high-quality university-linked education opportunities and cultivate creative talent with global competitiveness.

Pohang City's flagship future education program, the 'Global Talent Development Project,' leverages the research capabilities and educational resources of local universities to provide customized, specialized education for elementary, middle, and high school students. Among these, POSTECH is currently hosting the "Youth Mathematical Artificial Intelligence Academy," offering educational programs that combine mathematical principles with AI technology. This event is designed as an extension of this program.

The event will feature an exhibition of AI-based installation art, a lecture on "AI and Art," a talk by three Korean artists, a youth AI video workshop, a special lecture on "AI and Film," a performance of Korean traditional music composed by AI and hands-on experience with Korean traditional instruments, and an awards ceremony for the Youth AI Art Contest.

Notably, the Youth AI Art Contest Awards Ceremony on the 13th will feature the six winning entries selected from entries submitted in November. The participating students will showcase their creative skills by presenting AI-based artworks they created themselves.

A Pohang City official stated, "This event provides an opportunity for local youth to cultivate the creative capabilities required in the AI ​​era. Through specialized education in partnership with local universities, we will establish a foundation for youth to grow and establish themselves in the region."
