경상북도는 도민의 정신건강을 위해 도내 23개 시·군 보건소를 대상으로 정신건강사업, 자살예방사업, 우수사례 및 도정협력도 4개 영역 30개 지표로 우수 지자체를 평가했다.

이번 선정은 고령군정신건강복지센터 정신건강 및 자살예방사업 뿐만 아니라 지역 내 자체적인 심리적 공동체 및 인적 안전망 구축사업 ‘우리동네 마음보안관’ 특화사업과 사업 평가 지표를 달성하여 높은 가산점을 받아 시·군 보건소 및 정신건강복지센터 관계자 200명 대상으로 ‘발견하고 연결하고 지켜낸 고령’이라는 주제로 우수사례를 발표했다.

고령군은 이번 최우수기관 달성을 계기로 정신건강복지센터 정신건강복지서비스를 지속적으로 개선·확장하여 서비스 추진하고, 사각지대에 있는 정신건강 및 자살 취약군을 지속 발굴하도록 우리동네 마음보안관들을 적극 지원할 계획이다.

한혜연보건소장은 “이번 최우수기관 선정은 지역주민 뿐만 아니라 공무원 심리지원 등 다양한 정신건강서비스와 자살예방 및 생명존중 환경조성을 위해 적극 추진한 결과“라며 ”앞으로도 누구나 쉽게 정신건강서비스를 받을 수 있는 환경을 조성하여 안전한 고령군을 만들기 위해 노력하겠다.“고 밝혔다.

Goryeong County Mental Health and Welfare Center Selected as "Best Institution" in Gyeongsangbuk-do Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Project Evaluation

The Goryeong County Mental Health and Welfare Center achieved the remarkable feat of being selected as the Best Institution this year, following its 2022 and 2024 awards at the 2025 Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Project Achievement Awards hosted by Gyeongsangbuk-do Province at the Grand Ballroom of the Hotel Geumosan in Gumi on the 8th.

To promote the mental health of its residents, Gyeongsangbuk-do Province evaluated 23 city and county public health centers across the province, evaluating them based on 30 indicators across four areas: mental health projects, suicide prevention projects, best practices, and cooperation with the provincial government.

This selection was made not only for the mental health and suicide prevention projects of the Goryeong County Mental Health and Welfare Center, but also for its specialized project, "Our Neighborhood Mental Sheriff," which builds a local psychological community and human safety net. The project also received high scores for meeting evaluation criteria, leading to a presentation on best practices under the theme "Discovering, Connecting, and Protecting Goryeong" to 200 city and county health centers and mental health and welfare centers.

Goryeong County plans to leverage this recognition as the Best Organization to continuously improve and expand the mental health and welfare services offered by the Mental Health and Welfare Center. It will also actively support the "Our Neighborhood Mental Sheriffs" to identify vulnerable populations facing mental health and suicide risk.
