교육부와 한국과학창의재단은 지난 12월 12일 수원메쎄 메인홀에서 ‘2025 온동네 교육기부 박람회’를 개최하고, 교육기부 활성화에 우수한 성과를 거둔 기관·공공·대학·동아리·개인 등 총 30팀을 선정해 시상했다.

대구대 늘품 동아리는 교육 기회가 상대적으로 부족한 농촌·산간 지역 청소년을 대상으로 지속적인 교육봉사 활동을 펼쳐온 점을 높이 평가받아 교육부장관 표창을 수여받았다.

늘품 동아리는 2019년 창단 이후 ‘교육은 지식 전달을 넘어 관계를 통해 성장한다’는 철학을 바탕으로 학생과 지역사회를 잇는 참여형 교육 프로그램을 운영해 왔다. 특히 강원도 원주시 신림면에 위치한 황둔중학교를 4년간 꾸준히 방문하며 체험형 과학수업, 문화예술 프로그램, 감정표현 교육, 협동심 향상 활동 등을 통해 지속적인 교류를 이어왔다.

올해 7월 마지막 여름 캠프에서는 다양한 나라 마을 만들기, 반달돌칼 제작, 전선 실험, 블라인드 향수 만들기, 별 관측 등 다채로운 체험 수업을 진행하며 학생들에게 잊지 못할 추억을 선사했다.

이 밖에도 늘품 동아리는 수해 지원 교육봉사, 농촌 재능나눔, 울릉도 격오지 환경 캠프, 다문화 역사 현장체험 학습 등 다양한 활동을 통해 교육기부 실천에 앞장서 왔다.

늘품은 앞으로도 정기적인 농촌 방문 활동과 지역 맞춤형 교육 콘텐츠 개발, 멘토링 프로그램 운영 등을 통해 학생과 함께 성장하는 교육기부 활동을 지속해 나갈 계획이다.

늘품 동아리 회장 조세욱 학생(역사교육과 4학년)은 “교사를 꿈꾸는 사람이 아이들에게 작은 변화라도 전할 수 있다는 사실이 큰 힘이 된다”며 “이러한 교육봉사 경험을 바탕으로 현장에서 아이들과 소통하며 꿈을 키워주는 교사가 되도록 노력하겠다”고 소감을 밝혔다.

Daegu University's Neulpum Club received the Minister of Education's Award for its ongoing educational volunteer work targeting youth in rural and mountainous areas, where educational opportunities are relatively limited.

Since its founding in 2019, the Neulpum Club has operated participatory educational programs that connect students and the local community, based on the philosophy that "education goes beyond the transfer of knowledge and fosters growth through relationships."
