【브레이크뉴스 경산】이성현 기자=대구대학교(총장 박순진) 중앙박물관이 대학박물관 진흥지원사업 수행 기관을 대상으로 한 올해 성과 평가에서 ‘최우수관’으로 선정되는 영예를 안았다.

문화체육관광부가 주최하고 한국대학박물관협회가 주관하는 대학박물관 진흥지원사업은 대학박물관이 보유한 문화·연구 자원을 활용해 수준 높은 전시와 교육 프로그램을 국민에게 제공하도록 지원하는 사업이다.

대구대 중앙박물관은 올해 초 전국 100여 개 국·공립 및 사립대학 소속 박물관·미술관을 대상으로 진행된 공모에서 선정됐으며, 대학 박물관 가운데 최초로 7년 연속(2019~2025년) 사업 선정이라는 기록을 세웠다. 여기에 더해 올해 가장 우수한 전시 성과를 거둔 기관으로 평가받아 최우수관으로 이름을 올렸다.

시상식은 지난 12월 18일 서울대학교박물관 강당에서 열렸으며, 대구대 중앙박물관은 최우수관 상을 수여받았다.

이번 수상은 올해 5월부터 10월까지 운영한 체험형 전시·교육 프로그램 ‘놀다×잇다: 놀이로 만나는 역사 & 문화’의 성과를 인정받은 결과다. 해당 프로그램은 넷플릭스 인기 시리즈 ‘오징어 게임’을 계기로 세계적인 관심을 끈 ‘K-놀이’를 주제로, 전통 놀이의 역사와 문화적 가치를 조명하며 놀이를 통해 세대 간 소통과 문화 공유를 이끌어냈다.

전시는 대학 구성원은 물론 지역 주민과 문화 소외계층까지 폭넓게 참여할 수 있도록 기획돼 총 9천여 명이 참여했으며, 놀이를 매개로 공동체를 잇는 대학박물관의 사회적 역할을 효과적으로 수행했다는 평가를 받았다.

김시만 대구대 중앙박물관장은 “이번 수상은 대학박물관이 지역사회와 함께 호흡하며 문화적 가치를 창출할 수 있음을 보여준 의미 있는 성과”라며 “앞으로도 지역과 함께하는 열린 박물관이자 미래 세대와 소통하는 문화 플랫폼으로서의 역할을 지속적으로 확대해 나가겠다”고 말했다.

Daegu University Central Museum Selected as "Best Museum" in Performance Evaluation of University Museum Promotion Support Project

Daegu University (President Park Soon-jin) Central Museum was honored with the "Best Museum" award in this year's performance evaluation of institutions implementing the University Museum Promotion Support Project.

The University Museum Promotion Support Project, hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korean Association of University Museums, supports university museums by leveraging their cultural and research resources to provide high-quality exhibitions and educational programs to the public.

Daegu University Central Museum was selected early this year from a competition open to approximately 100 museums and art galleries affiliated with national, public, and private universities nationwide. It is the first university museum to be selected for the project for seven consecutive years (2019-2025). Furthermore, it was recognized as the institution with the most outstanding exhibition performance of the year, earning it the title of "Best Museum."

The awards ceremony was held on December 18th at the Seoul National University Museum auditorium, and Daegu University Central Museum received the Best Museum Award.

This award recognizes the achievements of the experiential exhibition and education program, "Nolda x Connect: History & Culture Through Play," which ran from May to October of this year. The program focused on "K-play," a genre of traditional play that gained global attention thanks to the popular Netflix series "Squid Game." The program illuminated the history and cultural value of traditional play, fostering intergenerational communication and cultural sharing through play.

The exhibition, designed to engage a wide range of participants, including university faculty, local residents, and culturally underprivileged individuals, attracted over 9,000 participants. The program was recognized for effectively fulfilling the university museum's social role of connecting communities through play.

Kim Si-man, Director of the Daegu University Central Museum, stated, "This award is a meaningful achievement that demonstrates how university museums can collaborate with the local community and create cultural value. We will continue to expand our role as an open museum that engages with the local community and a cultural platform that connects with future generations."
